Gonna give this whole 'Zelda' thing a try, apparently they're making a movie about it? I dunno, seems kinda kooky, but I guess I'll see what all the fuss is about!

Finished Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, but of course that's only half the journey... (this idea of splitting a full Zelda adventure in two is really cool and I wish they'd try it again at some point)

But there's also a lot of jankiness/tedium holding it back from being among my favorite Zeldas. Stone Tower Temple is particularly obnoxious - I hate having to play that one song to create statues over and over. But still, great game, and a great example of how varied the Zelda series is

Tonight I embark on a replay of mankind's greatest achievement: the Zelda Oracle duology! Now, I may be biased in making that claim because they're the first Zeldas I ever played and were a major pillar of my childhood, but....nah, mankind has never achieved anything better than this

Finished up Majora's Mask, which is much better than some people would say, but not quite as good as its cult following claims. I overall really love it, especially all its unique attributes (the time limit is good, idgaf) and generally creepy/somber atmosphere.

Original Ocarina of Time: Still holds up, still a masterpiece, and quite frankly doesn't really need a remake....but I guess it's cool we're getting one anyway

There's a part of this Christian video that *terrified* me when I was like 4ish, where the main kid gets stuck in a creepy basement. I rewatched the video on YouTube many years later....there's nothing even remotely scary about it, so I think I was just an idiot as a kid

OG Link's Awakening still holds up really well! Not quite a masterpiece like ALttP (having to pause so often to swap items gets tiring, as does some of the hand-holding/repeated messages), but still a nice l'il Zelda adventure with lots of fun quirks

Tonight I'm gonna watch this DVD, which I first received in the mail in mid-September 2006, just about 20 goddamn years ago!! I have no idea what ever happened to the guys that made this DVD, but I wish them well and hope they're still out there somewhere doing something cool

Finished ALttP for the umpteenth time, and I will say definitively it is NOT a perfect game... The ice palace can eat it from the back. Fuck that place. But other than that, perfect 10/10 masterpiece one of the best games ever love love love love it so much forever okay bye

On the plus side, exploring the world was still pretty fun, and it controls well enough. I appreciate them trying something so different after the first game, but I'm also really glad they course corrected so well after this one

Finished replaying Zelda 2. There's a great game in there, buried beneath its desire to be way more difficult and cryptic than it needs to be. I would never ever play this game again without save states, rewind, and online help.

Most of the temples are too long and tedious to get through, especially with no in-game map, and figuring out how to progress through certain parts is damn near impossible without looking up a guide.

Finished up OG Zelda, and it still holds up really well for a 40-year-old game! It's a lot of fun zipping around the world from dungeon to dungeon, finding all the secrets and whatnot (admittedly with the help of online guides and save states 🤫)

Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen will return as Frodo and Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum — more than 25 years on from when Fellowship of the Ring released, and now director Andy Serkis has said some level of digital de-aging will be used. https://bit.ly/4fxOKI3

Once again, I'm asking (begging) for at least one of these to be remastered. If we don't get any of them, it was a bad Direct.

The finale features my proudest accomplishment of the entire series:

Mega64@mega64official.bsky.social

We kept uploading hour long daily highlight videos from ROOM-B on our second YT channel and we just got to the finale today. There’s an entire playlist of the whole event’s highlights you can watch now! Lots of awkward and disgusting moments you probably missed! youtube.com/playlist?lis...

I bet the person who edited these vids is super cool

Mega64@mega64official.bsky.social

Surprise, we’ve got daily ROOM-B highlight compilation videos coming to our second YT channel. Rocco trapped in a room 24/7 while the worst guests (and fierce beasts) come to torment him. The first couple days are up now with more to come! youtu.be/4kHHAAQBZ5E?...

Fuck this, Nintendo. I'm never playing the GameCube version of Metroid Prime 2 and I'm never gonna stop asking for remasters of Prime 2 and 3 until they finally make them. #RemasterMetroidPrime2&3

Anyone who celebrates this version of Prime 2 releasing on Switch is in for a rude awakening immediately upon trying to play it with its archaic controls. Prime 2 is one of my favorite games ever and it needs/deserves a remaster with modern controls and updated graphics

Disney continues to suck, in a multitude of ways, but especially in the physical media department

Bill Hunt@billhuntbits.bsky.social

FYI, there are currently no Disney/20th Century plans for physical #4K disc releases of Planet of the Apes (1968), The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), Cast Away (2000), and Armageddon (1998) in 2026 per my industry sources. So adjust your plans accordingly. @thedigitalbits.bsky.social

Oh thank God, Return of the King left us with so many loose plot threads and unanswered questions, especially with these two characters, so it'll be great to get everything tied up finally!!

So stoked this has been officially announced! I edited this trailer just for fun a while back, while putting together the main MLK videos. It's awesome seeing it now used to promote the series going up on Mega64 Infinity!

Finished a replay of Metroid Prime 3 right in the nick of time before 4 finally comes out. As much as I loved revisiting it (and Prime 2), this really just made me more annoyed than ever at Nintendo's neglecting to rerelease them on Switch in the lead up to 4. What a stupid decision

So stoked for this Blu-ray. Finally, I can stop being annoyed by this inconsistency!

Mega64@mega64official.bsky.social

The big one on Black Friday is our MEGA64 TIME TRAVELERS Blu-ray, which covers our work from 2010/2011, never before in HD/Blu-ray. New features and reversible cover too! There’ll also be a Special Edition version with signed retro poster and exclusive watch! On sale Black Friday!

Yep, that looks like Link and Zelda, alright. Remaining cautiously optimistic about this whole thing

Nintendo of America [Twitter/X Mirror]@nintendoamericax.bsky.social

This is Miyamoto. Filming is underway for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda in a lush, natural setting, with Bo Bragason-san who will play Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san who will play Link (1/2).

Welp, after 8.5 years of waiting, I guess this makes it official that we're not getting Metroid Prime 2 & 3 on Switch before 4 comes out. Such an idiotic oversight by Nintendo, but I guess this opens the window for those games to get remasters in the future

Wow, check out this awesome new Metroid Prime Trilogy art book! Boy, it sure would be nice if all three games featured in it were available on modern hardware! Especially with the long-awaited 4th coming out soon! Seems like it would make a lot of sense to rerelease them, but maybe I'm crazy!!! 🙃🙃

Ah man, I put together my Paul Thomas Anderson filmography ranking, but it got all jumbled 😮‍💨 1. Punch-Battle Blood 2. Hardnolia 3. Boogie Master 4. Another Phantom 5. There Will Be Pizza 6. Inherent Eight 7. One Thread After Love 8. The Drunk 9. Mag Vice 10. Licorice Nights
