“The second code review came back with 10 findings, all new, all on code I changed in the last round.” What a frustrating and frustratingly common user experience 😮‍💨

“I’d stop running code review. Each review is finding edge cases in the previous run’s fixes”

So much of the web looks bland in light mode. I think a lot of these sites were designed in dark mode and then a get a plain white background slapped on as an afterthought for light mode

I didn't like Chrome's "split view" for a while but I've come to like it for comparing before/after changes or for seeing how a CSS change impacts both mobile and desktop layouts/sizes

Not sure how useful this type of example is anymore, really. Not sure how many people are even reading docs page anymore. They're fun to put together if nothing else.

Spent a bit of time sprucing up a section of the react-window docs tonight– the part showing how to render dynamic content (or content of an unknown/varying size). I used to have lorem ipsum on the page 😮‍💨 The new docs feel more personal 🙃 I think react-window.vercel.app/list/dynamic...

I think the old docs relied too much on readers connecting the dots. Hopefully the recent changes make them more approachable. Please do share ideas or feedback if you have them though.

Dropped my AirPods today as I was getting onto an elevator and they fell in between the crack and disappeared ☹️

For what it's worth, react-window is still the recommended option for most use cases (unless you need some of the more complex components only available in react-virtualized)

Forgot to mention that version 10 should be a lot smaller thanks to better build tooling. I think it's about 80% smaller up front, plus it supports tree shaking.

This weekend's project is to plan a potential react-virtualized version 10 release that fixes a ton of old outstanding issues that I haven't had the mental energy to deal with. First step, updating the project to use my custom docs package. It's a lot prettier already.

I have been making some really neat UIs lately for work, but I’ve been simultaneously kind of demotivated by the feeling that no one even cares anymore, “Shouldn’t we just be using AI for this? Why do we even need a UI?”

Nothing really makes sense on the Internet anymore in the age of AI. For instance, I’m no longer sure how to even make sense of NPM package download stats. react-resizable-panels now gets almost 40 million weekly downloads. What does that even mean?

It’s like using cheat codes on a video game when we were younger. At one point this would have been an amazing accomplishment. Now it feels like nothing.

Have tickets to see Lane 8 tonight but I’m just too tired to go (work stress? life stress?) Bit bummed about it but trying to just accept that I can’t really change it so 😑 acceptance

A while ago, someone requested react-resizable-panels support 2d "grid" layouts. I'm working on a new set of grid+cell components to support this, with a similar API (in terms of constraints and separator styling at least) github.com/bvaughn/reac...

react-window 2.3.2 released with better scroll-to-row support for dynamic row heights, and a bunch of other small bug fixes and perf improvements.

Small tack on 2.3.3 release today to fix an edge case perf issue with dynamic-sized rows.
