How tf am I supposed to open up to you if me being scared makes you freak out and now you want me to make you feel safe? When do I get to feel safe and comforted?

I hate that even after months of working on yourself and making progress and feeling good, a day can turn into a sad day out of nowhere, for no real reason. Thanks brain.

Learning just how much good sleep and gentle movement like a dance-y morning really do make a big difference. It wasn't out of nowhere. Still learning to be gentle with myself. feels like I'm shedding an old version of me, still stepping in to a new me. Not really new, she's always been here, but

I haven't always listened to her, or let her just exist. Sometimes I slip and she gets scared back into hiding, b/c that's what's safe. Never really appreciated how hard it is to listen to yourself.

I think one area we do a frankly terrible job with mental health is that we regularly allow mental healthcare to be isolated from the surrounding society or at best reduced to a one-way street. We do not have the mechanisms or training to allow aggregate mental healthcare to guide society back.
