Due to the strongest heat ever recorded in the Pacific, storms have more energy, ocean mass expands, and there’s a “downwelling equatorial Kelvin wave”which shifts more water to the east Pacific toward CA. Scientists fear El Niño related weather extremes may become the new normal.
