He ate his roasted rabbit and drank his oil and prepared to dream that night in the Holy River Ulaja. Then was the roaming full of courage.

anyway now I'm strongly considering returning to Baldur's Gate 3 but maybe simply starting over, because I left my playthrough off somewhere in the third act and the last time I attempted to continue with it I was thoroughly overwhelmed and had totally lost the thread of what was going on

and I also have thoughts about how I might approach the game differently in terms of my character, respeccing companions, quest lines, etc. after messing around in multiplayer

since I'm watching Dark and greatly enjoying it, I'm gonna recommend for any fellow Dark enjoyers my game ABKRONOS, a 3-page mini-rpg about being rebellious time travellers, based on Continuum and World of Dungeons thysane.itch.io/abkronos

decided to do my usual thing, which is to get into a series almost a decade late. The current contender: Dark! I've somehow remained more or less spoiler free. In any case my thoughts so far are mostly "damn, these are some good caves"

like the old Continuum ttrpg & other time travel things I enjoy, Abkronos assumes a single-timeline version of time travel, so I tried to make it as simple as possible to encourage most of the game to happen in the meta making-diagrams-with-straws stuff. I *want* you to argue about cause and effect

(from HIRUKO THE GOBLIN, which is a really fun horror-fantasy movie directed by Shinya Tsukamoto, the guy who did the TETSUO films and also has an acting role in Martin Scorsese's masterpiece SILENCE)

so pleased I watched this because I was already in the October mood but this sent it into the stratosphere, full ghosts and ghoulies mode engaged

it is interesting though, that this is held up as a poster child of "puzzle TV" but that honestly feels a little unfair to Dark, there's so much juice here beyond the mechanics of the thing

reposting some Outland (1981) screenshots from my first time through it. might be even more perfect Mothership inspiration than the Alien films themselves!

When you're so close to the metal on these things it's hard to see, I have to keep reminding myself that yes, A Nocturne is 200 pages long and and somewhere in the order of 20,000 words on its own.

Wow, that's an incredible easter egg... The mother and kid from The Exorcist are in the crowd fleeing Martians in Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds.

Don’t know if this is an art swipe or merely reference material - but I spotted it recently having known the artwork since it first came out many many many years ago!

I personally know at least one person who refuses to watch movies older than they are and I cannot sanction their buffoonery (though I do love them as a person, it is difficult)

gonna carve out a wee bit of time this weekend to do more writing, I have to write about one of my poor unwitting protagonists witnessing a gruesome murder

a wee bit sick and light on actual work today so I've decided to relax by designing a megadungeon inspired by the underground Eternal Cities of the Nox in Elden Ring, and also a bunch of monsters from Essential Enemies, the Demonic Grimoire, and elsewhere
