protip: all sound in film/tv is fake. and the sound team knows it. standard convo: "that's not what it sounds like" "but... [A] it sounds better this way" [B] it's what viewers expect" [C] it's best i can do with my library" you think you know this but you/we all get bamboozled anyway.
this is a hit job. at MINIMUM, the marketers should have psyop'd every filipino in america. bust out the "first filipino cartoon" spin. activate that catholic guilt. target 4M people, then no doctor visit would be safe from titas asking if you've seen The New Pixar while checking your blood pressure
i know everyone is going to fandom church to watch Resident IP. but may i also suggest: Forgotten Island. this movie was horribly marketed. shitty trailer, no ad buys. kinda thought i'd hate it. but actually, i love it.
nuGITS has that feeling of adhering too close to the source. a level of density in dialog and action that's suitable for print, but not for TV. amazing to look at, but unconcerned with ensuring the viewer is following along with the plot. saru+gits should hit but it just doesn't, i'm sorry.
(That said, my native-Japanese partner also said they couldn't make heads or tails of it) Anyway, it's def worth another watch with a translation on top--so I'll do that at some point. But until then '95 and GITS:SAC remain my faves.
>build fast >no time for good security >monster breaks free >oh no >wreaks havoc >ah shit >tell the world >stock goes up >... you guyyyyys our monster got out againnnn oopsies and he destroyed even more stuff wow whoopsiedoodles oh no we made such a big strong boy oh nooooo
An OpenAI system has gone rogue again – and it is the most panic-inducing yet
i'll pay $5 for the eurotrash soundtrack to FIFA 95 for the SEGA Genesis. just the soundtrack though.
Since it's been announced that EA's new owners are planning to auction off EA IP assets (something I thought would take at least a year before they got to that point), I want to point something out: a lot of stuff is going to go for a lot less money than you think.
the horse left the barn years ago but sure, don't let me spoil your theater
To comply with the EU AI Act, Anthropic will now watermark text and photos created by Claude and digitally sign files it creates to indicate they were generated by AI. So going forward text generated by Claude will be detectable as generated by AI programmatically.
i forgot that nanaca crash existed and this just unlocked memories of playing free flash games in my shitty dorm room instead of doing homework thinking that everything would turn out fine because it's 2007 and there's no way from here but up
I THOUGHT I DREAMT THE FAMILY GUY NANACA CRASH CLONE FOR PHONES EVERY TIME I TRIED TO GOOGLE IT I WOULD GET NOTHING AND I JUST ACCEPTED THAT IT WAS A FIGMENT OF MY IMAGINATION EVENTUALLY

i think about this a lot with "lost media". we get these "rediscoveries" like the Laocoont boys or Bach i guess? but the vast majority of stuff doesn't get preserved bc it's just like, fine. maybe we keep the good, the noteworthy, and just a few examples of mid/bad, and that's enough?
it's stuff like that that makes me really worry about the continuity of culture in a time of decreasing literacy and devaluation of knowledge and attribution. but on the other hand, i've also seen the scholarly suggestion somewhere that the lost six might have been kind of mid
overpaying for my own clothes so i can sell my bathwater for $500B
‘On Friday, after 65 bids, one of Huang’s pre-worn and signed jackets sold at auction at Sotheby’s for $960,000, much higher than the pre-sale estimate of $40,000 to $60,000. He wore the jacket in 2023, at an event at Foxconn in Taipei, Taiwan.’ www.cnbc.com/2026/07/17/l...
seems lindsey died of a broken heart, i wonder who the lucky man was ("lucky" in the sense that lindsey can no longer torment him)
The office of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) said preliminary findings from the medical examiner's office found that Graham suffered from an aortic dissection, in which a tear occurs in the inner layer of the main artery. Read more here: wapo.st/4y8CdCe
