some coding stuff and a little bit of non-coding stuff

Such a niche tool but for some reason I feel the urge to add more features. My brain keeps coming up with ideas. - Custom templates - Upload directly to imgur and output link for sharing (in scenarios like some subreddits which don't allow media in the replies) github.com/jasonuc/gree...

github.comGitHub - jasonuc/greentext: A CLI tool for creating green-text memes in your terminal 🐸A CLI tool for creating green-text memes in your terminal 🐸 - jasonuc/greentext

Wouldn't be doing myself justice if i didn't recreate this with greentext. Funny enough it was after this post that the idea popped into my head.

>be me >buy domain on Vercel for $20 for a coding project >feeling good about the decision >thinking I’m a legit developer now >couple days later >Vercel: "lol we're dropping domain prices" >domain now worth $7 >haven’t even started the project yet >tfw paid 3x the price for nothing

This was generated using greentext. Find pleasure in making stuff no one asked for. Fun fact, the green-text memes generated by my CLI tool are created entirely in code. No pre-designed templates—just Go doing its thing, pixel by pixel. It’s as satisfying as it is frustrating.

TLDR;

fnm completely blows nvm out of the water. With nvm, every time I opened a new shell, there was a noticeable delay during startup. I know it’s just a few milliseconds, but it’s super frustrating to start typing and see that unresponsiveness.

I even tried lazy loading nvm to make my shell faster, which solved my issue but cause complications elsewhere. Eventually, I made the move to fnm, and it’s been a game-changer. Now my shell launches instantly and works smoothly from the get go.

No more delays, no more frustration, just a faster, more responsive experience overall. Also fnm is built with rust. Now I don’t have to think about this again. fnm follows nvm syntax as well. Might as well set up and nvm to fnm alias just in case I forget 😂

Don’t really like the way I’ve done the current one. I was basically doing the go equivalent of the other one which I don’t believe should be the way. So most likely a rebuild. Also when building this I found out that some terminals don’t timestamp commands in history by default.

This was not supposed to take this long 💀. I got distracted a lot (my fault) and diverted into other stuff. I have got something at the moment but I don’t really like the way it it. Too many words and less text-graphics. Gonna move it towards that or rebuild lol

My bad everyone, just noticed the preview wasn't showing. The title is "JSON Web Tokens (JWT) — the only explanation you will ever need"

Not many times does a Medium title live up to it's name but this is definitely up there arielweinberger.medium.com/json-web-tok...

Just bullied myself some more it's actually `$(filter-out $@,$(MAKECMDGOALS))` 🫠

I might be my biggest bully. Just scolded myself for forgetting `$(filter-out: $@,$(MAKECMDGOALS))` in my Makefile 🫠
