Remembering my dear friend BERNIE WRIGHTSON on what would’ve been his 78th birthday. Everyday I’m reminded how great and talented he was by his original art I’ve hanging all over my studio walls. A constant source of inspiration. Buon Compleanno, brother, I miss you 🖤

Sigurd may be a weaker album of the series, but it’s full of wonders like this stunning page.

...wwwhy?
The play is written in modern English, and set in Italy.
(Even if this is a classic case of not understanding what Old English is, using the original text isn't even much of a flourish. Joss Whedon used original text. Baz Luhrman used original text. That's really normal for Shakespeare.)
Robert Eggers is set to direct a new film adaptation of ‘ROMEO AND JULIET’.
The film will feature the actors speaking in Olde English.

The Tapas thing has me thinking about platforms, and the nature of an audience. We post Captain Tempest in like a half dozen places, including chopped up for vertical scroll and individual panels, depending on format.
Do we have one audience? Or one for each platform?
(we've also got a website)
We don't have a big audience, but there are people who encountered our work for the first time on every platform. What does it mean to the broader texture of our audience for any version to become lost?
Maybe it's all old radio shows. Everything is meant to be consumed in the context of its moment.
That is, even if you find recordings of the old show, the experience of listening to them the way they were originally intended is lost. You are a different audience, and that old audience will never exist again.

Is there a "real" version of the comic? Each has its minor differences and compromises. The print version doesn't have the page names, which are often jokes or thematic allusions.
Our comic can't be lost the way a lot of work on Tapas is likely to be, but if a platform went down, SOMETHING is lost.
Oh! Good. They know each other.
(A shiny silver penny to anyone who can tell the class who this guy is and where we've seen him before in "Captain Tempest!")
Hopefully somewhere will post nice shareable cover images and preview pages soon, but I can say that among the things I have coming out in December is the all-new STARTLING TALES OF SANTA CLAUS 2026 ANNUAL, featuring Santa vs Dracula, at last
I DESPERATELY need your help with something, even if it’s just sharing this skeet:
I’m working on a piec about the evolution of video games and the KEY to my story is a guy named Oscar Munoz who worked for Sega in the early 1990s
I’ve tried everything to find him and social media is my last resort
