Every time a leftist placates working class voters over repeatedly voting for far right parties, an angel drowns in acid. Stop sympathising with them, stop telling them how "desperate situations lead to desperate action", stop validating their fuckery. The left does not need more useful idiots

The left should not be in the business of trying to gently rub the tummy of far right voters OR people who would rather go far right than even entertain the idea of a left wing government. It should be focused on internal unification and dragging the centre leftwards, converting liberals.

But no, instead huge swathes of time is wasted trying to "relate" to people who'd let Nigel Farage put a cigarette out on their tongue. All for what? So they can go back to voting Tory or Labour? What a victory 🙄 Stop it. Goddamn it.

"oh but their life is awful of course they're seeking radical change!" Oh? And you don't think it's telling when they exclusively choose the hatefilled fascists to provide that change? They're desperate but not so desperate to try anything left of centre where they can't hate a minority?

Something Ive noticed If something left wing causes a civil disturbance (riots/protests) the accepted wisdom is "well this will just play into the right wings hands" But if something right wing causes a civil disturbance the accepted wisdom is "clearly we need to pay attention to their concerns"

People who go into their workplace when they're ill need a clip around the earhole. Not only did people fight for your right to sick days EXPRESSLY for this purpose, you are putting other people at risk for the sake of nothing more than licking a bit of boot

I used to work in web hosting and I'd say 90% of the thousands, possibly tens of thousands, of websites the company I worked for hosted used PHP. On the best of days, dealing with uninformed and easily agitated customers was a chore...today I can only assume its a nightmare Spare a thought for them

"okay but you HAVE to admit it's cool right?" No, and I'm sick of people saying this. Corporate publicity Stunts are *not* cool. A spectacle? Sure. But they're not cool, and you may be a bit of a loser if you think they are. Especially as this stunt was purely to distract from their failures

I promise you, if they do this, I am cancelling everything and going back to the bay. I am not paying the BBC for content not made, produced or distributed by the BBC. They are fucking JOKING if they think I'm going to pay them £130 a year to watch YouTube.

So, this should be causing more alarm than it is. This is a smoking gun that the support of a major political party and possibly the entire political narrative of the last decade is entirely fiction. Sheep will follow other sheep, so they invented a flock. You are under assault

The amount of confidently asserted speculation and misinformation about the Tiger mauling is insane. Deaf? Completely unconfirmed, and nobody can agree whether his "signs" (a wagging finger) were Makaton, or BSL. Some are saying that wagging his finger at a tiger was proof of autism. Speaking of-

Finally, that he "fell" in. This is not supported by eyewitnesses, which on it's own isn't proof but one of those eye witnesses claimed to have tried to physically stop him from climbing in and he fought her off. That coupled with him BOWING to the tiger, somewhat suggest he chose to be in there

What's my point? My blanket policy is that the internet is full of lies and misinformation. The people spreading this are also doing so to say "he had all these issues therefore it's extra sad and you're all making jokes", so doubly so for you - stop spreading misinformation just to feel superior

Was he autistic? Again, completely unconfirmed, AN eye witness said "oh you can tell he was autistic" which is not the bar for diagnosis. All they could actually tell is that he was behaving unusually, which has lots of potential causes.

This is what robots and AI are supposed to be doing, menial work at unsociable hours. HOWEVER we know that's not what all they're doing, jobs are being squeezed from both ends of the spectrum (creative and menial) and NOTHING is being done to compensate those trying to live under this capitalism

If I was writing a novel based on this premise i would predict that those in power would ignore this problem to the point of mass unemployment and rioting, but thats not how things generally work. Instead I'd expect them to find a way to keep us *just* comfortable enough to not riot

From an article about Russian interference in the brexit referendum BOY I can't think of a single fucking example of British Voters making the savvy choice at any point in my entire life. They are so easily duped, and so consistently, that duping them is the basis of our entire political system

Obviously this is proof that Labour are winning back voters and the greens should get rid of the man responsible for the greens result This is the political reality pundits and newspapers would have you believe

รℓσαɳε ℓყรɓεƭɦ@sloanelysbeth.northsky.social

inside the greens’ sudden crisis. literally the only party that gained. 🤷‍♀️

40 years of Election data for Holborn and St Pancras. A story of consistent Labour dominance. The highest vote share on this graph is the conservatives in 1983, 30.7% Polanski just got 32.8% He secured the HIGHEST non-labour voteshare in 40 years and they're calling for his resignation.

A 22.4% voteshare increase on their last attempt, and they're calling it a failure, saying the greens are finished. I don't even especially like ZP and these conclusions are FUCKING STUPID and everyone espousing them shouldnt be left unattended around plastic bags

A further point about the greens Zionism motion and "Butbutbut people will keep bringing it up 😢" critique - NYC has triple the number of Jewish people than the UK, and it just elected a Muslim, openly anti-zionist AND anti-Israel (as it is now) Mayor who dealt with this exact thing. COPY HIM

I sincerely hope that the Green leadership MP's take this as a sign to stop finally being cowards on this issue. Your party doesn't want wishy washy, now is the time to have a spine. As for the "but there will be endless arguments about definitions" POV - more cowardice dictated by your enemies --

Following the vote on the anti-Zionist policy at Green Party Conference, the 5 Green MPs, the Leader and Co-Deputy Leaders have issued a joint statement

-- I don't remember there being this discussion when, equally rightly, it came to define trans women as women. And just like with trans people your enemies will seek to make it about definitions "what is a woman" and all that bs. Why are you capable of dealing with that, but not this? Oh wait is it-

-because you, rightly, don't give a fuck if you lose the transphobe vote, but are PATHETICALLY hoping to keep the Zionist vote maybe? Much like Labour pandering to the right, seems even the greens aren't immune to pandering to evil too. Find your spines, this was NEVER going to be easy.

I don't watch F1 but my parents do so I still catch it, and one of the reasons I don't watch F1 is that it is filmed in the least exciting way possible. These cars are taking sharp corners at 100 fucking MPH and yet on screen it looks no more than 30. They need to start filming it like a movie

I don't know who put the setting in place, and I'd hoped to share this positively, but restricting replies AND quote replies is fucking stupid. I can only repost? If you want your ego stroked and don't want anyone else involved just jack off in front of a mirror or something

This is the same guy who was convinced that Iran would have nuclear weapons by 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2010, 2011, 2013,2015 and 2025 I'm gonna say his ability to predict things his enemies will do is woeful at best

Nothing encapsulates the changes to the job market over the last century than the story of Fred Turner, ex-CEO of McDonalds In 1956 he was 23 years old, fresh out of the army and got a job as a grill operator at a burger joint. By 1958 he was OPERATIONS VICE PRESIDENT OF A 34 RESTAURANT BUSINESS

Now I'm not saying it's not possible to work from the bottom rung to the top today. But zero qualification burger flipper to VP of operations of a rapidly expanding restaurant, in two years? What an alien place the past is. Took him 17 years to go from grill to C-E-FUCKING-O

When was the last time you even HEARD of a 40 year old CEO? That wasn't even noteworthy in the 70s. Spending 20 years at a company and ending up in a senior position was just kind of a regular career trajectory 50 years ago. Now? Ha. You could work hard for 2 years and not even get a pay rise

I really hope this isn't actually their plans for the universal theme park. Beyond even more fucking HP shit (like their massive WB studio tour isn't enough), who curated this? WATERWORLD????? It's bizarre they still have that at existing parks let alone one they're building new

I have heard the phrase "family is really important to me as a XXX" (where XXX is normally a nationality) many times and it has always bugged me a bit - I'm pretty sure family is important globally. In general. Across the board.

Quick reminder any "left wing" content creator that spends their time going to hard-right areas/events, talking to hard-right voters, who makes a big deal about "oh we should listen to these people, not be mean or dismissive" - they are NOT interested in progressing left wing politics.

one of the longest running blunders of the left is the lack of pushback on AND the voluntary use of the word "offensive" A bad smell is offensive, chewing with your mouth open is offensive, but bigotry? Fascism? Immorality? Cruely? These are harmful, dangerous, lethal...not "offensive"

Consider how little cultural credit the right would have if we hadn't given them "oh, they're just offended". They didn't pick that word out of the blue we GAVE it them and then never corrected it.

Having caught a glimpse of the HBO Harry Potter series, unintentionally, the thing that strikes me the most is how much it looks like the existing films. Like they haven't really done anything to set it apart at all. Looking forward to this cast of children all growing up to call Rowling a terf too
