Its bewildering to me that people seem to truly believe that an AI is or can become conscious. Its just such a ridiculous idea. AI is software. Build of code and maps. No experience, no consequences. Just math calculations. AI is an amazing software tool. But thats all it is. #AI

AI is a software tool for thinking. It is not intelligent. It is not conscious. It is not moral. AI is software. A mirror of thinking. It can be programmed to support whatever thinking you wish. The real story of AI is thus: How self-absorbed & self-centered in thinking we are as a society.

I dream of a politics and economy in which power serves life, not money. I doubt I'll see that in my lifetime. I work in the hope that someday, someone in the future will.

That Jacob Coxon AI Researcher is very suspicious. He speaks of AI as being self-determining. It is not. He speaks of BigTech hacking incidents as tool behavior. It is not. He speaks as if he is a legit whistleblower. But is all over mainstream media. He is not. None of it adds up. #AI

Here is the larger Purpose I propose: Algorithmic Identity should SERVE LIFE. People. Communities. The living systems of our planet. Generations who will inherit the consequences of today's decisions. Power is not Purpose. We must choose what that power serves.

I don't ask you to accept the Framework on authority. Its claims about Intelligence and computation are open to examination and challenge. I've published the Framework materials freely. Explore the model, question it and tell me where you disagree. That's how public ideas grow.

Think of the last AI answer that sounded authoritative. Did you check the evidence? What had it assumed? Who might be affected if you acted on it? The challenge isn't just getting better answers. It's asking better questions. #CriticalThinking

And “you” doesn't only mean the person using AI. It means humanity. These systems draw on selected records of human knowledge, work and culture. Not everybody is represented or has equal power over their design. Whose knowledge is included? Whose interests are served

Source and Spark constitute an Algorithmic Identity. With a human Self, it can become a Thinking Companion—helping us explore evidence, question assumptions and compare possibilities. The Self still determines meaning and what to do next. Do not outsource thinking. Expand it.

AI systems can write, analyse, code, translate and produce answers that sound remarkably human. That is powerful. But a convincing answer is not necessarily a true one. Coherence is not Truth. Computation is not Judgement.

A computer can model unemployment. It does not fear losing its home. It can calculate the damage of deforestation. It does not live in the forest. The machine computes the Map. We live in the Landscape.

Seventy years ago, researchers named a field “Artificial Intelligence”. The machines we have built are extraordinary. Their capabilities are real. But I question the name. What do we mean by Intelligence? And who is responsible for what we choose to do with this power?

The US Embassy concern here is that any attempt to place a social duty of care on US BigTech companies will limit the capacity of the US War Machine to push their Propoganda through social media channels, and thus limits USA backed foreign interferences in our Australian Democracy.
