Excited to share our new Cell Reports paper on paratenial thalamus (PT), which identifies a molecular marker for PT, and shows how PT interacts with the medial prefrontal cortex, nucleus accumbens, and basolateral amygdala, all done by my grad student Nigel Dao: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Happy to share our new J Neurosci paper showing how cortical and thalamic inputs engage cholinergic interneurons in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) core: www.jneurosci.org/content/earl...

Huge congrats to @snierwetberg.bsky.social , David (not on BSky), and @maxwellxchen.bsky.social for their paper! They developed a mouse task in which relational structure can be isolated from cue identity and reward statistics. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... 🧠📈🧪 #neuroskyence @uclnpp.bsky.social

Pleased to share our new study showing how different cell types in the paratenial thalamus interact with the medial prefrontal cortex and other brain regions, all done by my graduate student Nigel Dao: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Very proud of Sara Fenstermacher for the heroic work! Many thanks to Martha Bagnall and co. for the Preview. Potentiation of active locomotor state by spinal-projecting serotonergic neurons: Neuron www.cell.com/neuron/fullt...

Excited to share our new J Neurosci paper showing how subcortical inputs are routed through ventromedial (VM) thalamus to layer 1 interneurons in the medial PFC, all done by my graduate student Sanne Casello: sannemcasello.bsky.social www.jneurosci.org/content/earl...

Thrilled to share our new paper, which shows that the relative timing of cholinergic and dopamine release dynamically gates whether dopamine acts as an RPE for in vivo plasticity and reinforcement learning. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Happy to share our new study about how cortical and thalamic inputs engage cholinergic interneurons in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) core, all done by my graduate student Emily Jang:

My latest Aronov lab paper is now published @Nature! When a chickadee looks at a distant location, the same place cells activate as if it were actually there 👁️ The hippocampus encodes where the bird is looking, AND what it expects to see next -- enabling spatial reasoning from afar bit.ly/3HvWSum

We are hiring at NYU! An Assistant Professor position between the Department of Biology and the Center for Neural Science. apply.interfolio.com/160048 Deadline Jan 8th Please re-post / re-Sky / re-Blue...just tell people

Excited to publish a broad set of enhancers to target interneuron types in the brain, along with a broad set of collaborators. Part of the BI armamentarium. Together this will help revolutionize the targeting of brain circuits.https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.07.17.603924v2

Huge congrats to @karyna-mi.bsky.social for her paper published today in Science! She found that the hippocampus is really important for a key strategy we use to make decisions called hidden state inference! 🧪 🧠https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adq5874 1/7
