Gerdie Strom, 2009-2026. Rescued, brilliant, gentle, worldly, and loved beyond words. You carried us through anxiety, grief, joy, and ordinary days. Letting you go yesterday was love, not surrender. Rest well with Aussie, Zeus, Daisy, Luke, and Brody. We love you. Casey and Robby

s we venture into 2026 I reflect. These past years have been ridden with seclusion for me as I have dealt with private family and business matters. But I have the utmost faith that the best is yet to come. Our darkest hours often lead to our brightest. Have hope. Seek it.

Ask for help. There is no shame in asking. For those that want to forge closer relationships that may have felt like I fell out, I did not intentionally. My need for space was not an afront. I hope to pick up the pieces in 2026. I wish you all a wonderful new season in life.

Good morning, if you’re just waking up, Trump won the election. Take a deep breath; it’s a lot to process, and however you’re feeling is valid. But remember, we’re still here, still together, and still standing strong. As we will be.

For LGBTQ+ folks and our allies, it’s been a rollercoaster—kind of like being asked, “Other than that, Mrs. Kennedy, how was the parade?”when things get intense. Yet, that’s exactly why we hold each other close. We’ve weathered storm after storm and come out stronger each time.

So let’s keep showing up for one another, lifting each other up, and standing firm for love, peace, and unity. We will live. We will prosper. And we’ll keep building a better world, hand in hand, one day at a time.

Why am I Casey B. Strom? B is for Brian, my Dad, who took his life in 2010. I miss you every day. Adding your initial is an ode to you, a reminder of your good attributes and the good moments we shared. It may seem unwarranted, but it helps keep your memory alive. I love you, Dad. Always.
