The president who refuses to admit he lost an election refuses to admit he lost a war.😮

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans. 🧵 1 of 9

Roll me over…. In the Clover! We seeded clover in the yard last year and it’s paying off in spades during the summer dearth where the nectar flow has stopped. Bees rely on transitional plants like clover, thistle, California, poppies lavender and dandelion to get us through. 🌺🌻🌿🌱🐝 #bloomscrolling

When I first glanced over at the Cape Fuchsia I thought this was a weird hummingbird. It’s a really large member of the Dragonfly family called the Twelve-spotted skimmer. How lucky we are! 🌺🌿🌱🐝🦋 #bloomscrolling

Is there anything more fascinating than a bumblebee on a thistle? I keep allowing these “weeds” to grow in the garden despite my better judgement, but there’s no better late season bloom to transition the crew during the summer dearth 🌱🌿🪴🐝

Today’s pollinator: the Great Golden Digger Sand wasp. The Boo Radley of the wasp family, it eats grasshoppers and other garden pests and it pollinates as well! It’s a ground dweller, so leave plenty of leaf litter on the soil to provide habitat. I found this one on an onion blossom. 🐝🍃🌱🌿🪴🦟

I think this might be a leaf cutter bee, Found it earlier today on the erygnium. It’s such a marvel how these insects can fly so heavily laden down with pollen! 🪴🐝🌱🌿

These are some of the most beautiful bumblebee pictures I’ve seen… I may have to start saving for a new camera.

GOLDEN Bumblebees on the Lavender! 🌱🌿🐝🌹🌺🌸🌷🌻🌼 #ASMR #bloomscrolling #bees #pollinators #gardening

Look at the pollen this bumblebee is wearing as it moves along the lavender…. 🌸🌿🌱🐝 #gardening #bees #pollinators #bloomscrolling

A special request from @outlawails.bsky.social …. Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme

By special request from @buskettigirl.bsky.social , here is Foxglove, Snapdragon and Mint. 🌷🌻🥀🌱🍃🌿

Bees in Thyme…. The flower heads are swaying with a host of native pollinators. The bumbles are too heavy for these delicate things! 🪴🏡🌸🌷🌻🌱🌿🐝

Foxglove, Daisy & Thyme. 🌱🪴 #garden

The bumblebees are dancing in the poppies today. #gardening🍃🌱 🐝

This is why I never wish anyone “Happy Memorial Day”. It’s not about who served, but about who went to serve and never came back.

Turn up the sound and spend a moment in the sunshine, listening to the birds and bees. I have been waiting six months for this moment. #beekeeping #relax #garden.

I needed this today

I planted this bulb a year ago and it came up the spring and I have no idea what it’s called.

Dealing with gray skies by setting up an indoor orchid case.

It isn’t about saving money. It’s clear that the intention is to dismantle our government.

I desperately need to lay down on the floor and be smothered by four litters of little puppies.

This hits 😣

We ran out of gift tags, but there was no question who this was for…

I served aboard the USCGC Gallatin for 2 years. That white paint was a misery to maintain. My team was responsible for a section top side and the E4 mafia found that easy off oven cleaner worked great on running rust. Why bother chipping paint? Lazy sailors are genius. #CoastGuard

I am very close to being bipedal again. As they say…. “One step at a time”.

I had a hard time identifying these. They look like bolete but I’m no expert. #mycology

I found these dainty little mushrooms at the yard last year. #mycology

Eating too much cake is the sin of gluttony. However, eating too much pie is okay because the sin of pi is always zero. 🖖

This was the late summer greenhouse. Had a rough summer with a bad knee so I couldn’t get much done. I haven’t been out there in a few weeks and I’m keen to get back into the yard once this knee is healed. 🌱🍄💐

Currently recovering from knee surgery so I built this little Lego project…. #Lego

45 years ago, this Coastie married a bubblehead. I would have joined the Navy but they found out that my parents were married. The Squid is still around and I wouldn’t have it any other way! @chromedome6169.bsky.social
