I've just updated flyingmeat.com/acorn/docs-8... "ACTN002: Acorn's File Format" with a Python script to export layers as png/tiff/plist. Acorn is technically a proprietary format, but I'm not big into lock-in, so I'll always make it easy to get your data out.
Well this brings back big old feelings - Java running in the browser via WASM. And there's a live Swing demo on the page as well: labs.leaningtech.com/blog/cheerpj...

A little post by me: Acorn's File Format Documented: shapeof.com/archives/202... The database schema it's been using is 16 years old now, and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon.

This Stratechary interview with Bobby Healy from Manna, a drone delivery company, was awesome and amazing: stratechery.com/2025/an-inte... I want it so much in the US.
New pizza oven alert. The Gozney Tread is a $499 super portable oven for … adventures? The stand is pretty amazing, and the magnetic mantel is A+ design work. The designs coming out of Gozney has gotten so good, I love it: www.gozney.com/collections/...
PSA: If you're a fan of Brandon Sanderson, his first four books of The Stormlight Archive only $2.99 each on Kindle: amzn.to/4hWXt61
Lunatic Fringe on the web: github.com/jackinloadup... Very cool, but … it doesn't play like I remember. Probably a Safari problem.

The bake for today's bread could have been so much better, but I think my oven decided to turn off the heat instead of turning it down: https://maybepizza.com/archives/2024/10/bake_notes_2024.10.08_oven_experiments_with_bread_part_8.html
I've been making a ton of bread lately to try and figure out the best setup to bake six loaves at once in my oven. I got a really good bake today and I'm hoping I found something that works: maybepizza.com/archives/202...
I went up a really fun climb this weekend. 1,800 ft of climbing! shapeof.com/archives/202...
