Neoliberalism has ravaged the UK Workers’ share of gross value added down from 71.9% in 1975, to 59.7%. 1.23m workers are on zero-hour contracts. 4.4m jobs pay less than the real living wage. Poorest 20% pay a higher proportion of income in direct/indirect taxes than the richest 20%.

Loved Killing Thatcher and gifted copies to many friends so eagerly awaiting delivery@rorycarroll72.bsky.social. My wife wondered why I was all emotional on a visit to the Tower of London and I pointed out I was where Sir Roger was held. First song my Grandmother taught me.

Just back from a wonderful 5 days in Milan. If you want an authentic seafood risotto this place is wonderful. Also worth a trip to Armani Silos. E10 for a close up of his historic collections and as amazing as any of the Art Galleries.

2 months till the 22nd Ireland Golf Tour. Cork GC, Cahir GC, Tramore GC, Gold Coast GG and West Waterford GC. 108 holes in 6 days. Staying at Lawlors Hotel Dungarvan and food and music at The Local, Merrys and The Moorings. 11 lads 6 Days, what could possibly go wrong 🇮🇪💚🤣

Highly Recommended. One of my favourite reads where I can’t decide if it should go on the Irish History shelf or Music Biography one. Illuminating and a lesson in mindfulness bravery and sheer determination. Maybe between Shane MacGowan and Geldof😎

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore. So I wrote a blog about ten things you can do *right now* to help defeat Farage, Musk, and rightwing populism. From scrutinising Reform councillors to demanding the UK Govt leave X - get involved: guyshrubsole.substack.com/p/ten-things...

Just finished Barack Obamas book of the year. Excellent inspirational story about how immigrants coped in America through support and love. Also if you are interested I also finished Donald Trumps book of the year The Cat in the Hat.

To cheer up a cold Sunday plugging Daughter braving it out post Covid to a near empty Theatre in Cyprus. Gotta earn the pennies till the big bucks come it’s a tough industry. Support work for performers in EU and a common sense agreement one day🤞

So there comes a time when Parents and kids cross a path……and mine is myself and my Daughter going to see the Bob Dylan film together. I am sooooo proud she has downloaded the soundtrack and is nagging me about songs 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Always be kind. Daughter (professional singer) asked me to listen to Cynthia Erivo’s version of Defying Gravity from new Wicked Film and both of us were a touch critical of the very audible breath before the last note. Turns out sings live in a corset whilst flying in Harness! Sorry Cyn😔 well done💪

Shameless plug for my Daughter and indeed all Theatre/Cruise ship/singers/Bands who have had their lives made harder to work in Europe. Sad to see so many of her peers leave the industry due to Brexit issues.

You are up to date.
