So why would any one pharma company, who pretty much live quarter to quarter to please shareholders, hold back the most profitable, in demand discovery of all time…just to ensure the rest of the industry can profit off other treatments… That’s not at all how these companies think.

They want money now, and as much of it as possible. That fact alone disproves the notion that pharma has secretly found a cure for cancer.

After the patent is up (in the US at least) other companies can make a “generic” version of whatever this mythical cure is, driving prices down. Think critically…do you think Merck shareholders and C-Suite execs really care about Pfizer’s ability to profit off cancer treatments?

No, absolutely not is the answer. Whatever company comes up with the “cure” would basically have an exclusive right to market it, and would basically have the most in demand medication since fucking Tylenol came out. They could charge whatever they want (because US certainly won’t limit them).

First of all, if some Pharma company found the CURE for cancer (nvm the fact that there can’t be a one sized fits all cure because cancer can mean a whole bunch of different diseases) They would absolutely release it. Pharma co’s have “X” amount of years to capitalize on a patent (usually 7-10)

Finished binging Dragon Ball Super: My Thoughts Goku - Why did they make him so dumb? Vegeta - Awesome character. Loved his progression. Gohan - I’ve always felt like Dragon Ball has wasted him since the Cell Saga. The trend continued for a while. Redeemed in ToP.

Grand Zeno - the Child-Like thing was weird. Didn’t really like this. ToP - Awesome concept! A ton of fun to watch. Ngl, I did fast forward through some of the less interesting battles though lol. Jiren - Loved the power, but character felt underdeveloped.

6th versus 7th Universe: Awesome! No notes! Hit was a great antagonist. Champa was a bit too goofy for my liking. Goku Black: Eh. Kind of cool. Ultimately felt convoluted (even for Dragon ball). Freeza’s 1st return: The whole thing felt forced…but I do love me some Freiza.

Beerus and Whis - initially Amoral, terrifying, and such an intimidating presence. Vegeta’s fear of Beerus really sold it. I didn’t like that they “softened” him up by the end though. Freiza - Mixed feelings. Hated him coming back at first. Enjoyed him thoroughly in ToP though.

RFK’s mere consideration is such a slap in the face to those of us who have spent years in this field. He is not only unqualified, his views are dangerous. He may have a handful of appropriate takes (like his stance on red dye), but for the most part, he is a conspiracy spewing Trump sycophant

And that’s not even addressing the data purges… If you want to understand the general feeling in my field right now, just know that researchers and physicians with decades of experience are extremely worried. This is different. This is not normal. This is not a time to wait and see.

This isn’t just changing priorities as is normal when new administrations come in. This is a full blown dismantling of the organizations responsible for ensuring the drugs we take are safe and effective. The FDA can’t even effectively communicate drug recalls right now…
