Sitting 1 goal away from unwanted MLS history, #SportingKC heads north to face Minnesota United. 3 matches left to not finish dead last. Can SKC pull off a road upset and keep the pressure on Montreal? Full preview, lineup notes, and score prediction: kcsoccerjournal.com/10/27/2026/o...

My wife found this sign someone made at the last #SportingKC game. I have so many questions...

New @fortheglorykc.bsky.social out! This week: - #SportingKC flirt with unwanted history - Wicky's system vs personnel issues - Ilie, Shelton, Feilhaber, Russell, Zusi, Melia and more - KC Current with an epic comeback #KCBaby kcsoccerjournal.com/10/26/2026/s...

Graham Zusi and his partner are expecting! World Cup baby. (From Instagram) #SportingKC

The Stein and Belo rumors confirmed. Kevin Geary is a new name I hadn't heard rumored. Good to see the front office being built out. #SportingKC

From the KC Comets Instagram... Looks like Khiry Shelton is doing something with the Comets. Shout out to @crobbie20.bsky.social for finding the original. #SportingKC

The KC Current are shooting at a pinata after the game in honor of Lo LaBonta's husband, Roger Espinoza's, 40th birthday. #KCBaby #SportingKC

It got a bit nervy, but the KC Current hold on! Big victory over the Washington Spirit. 2-1. Kansas City are in a great position to host a playoff game. They have to do what they've struggled to do all year though, win on the road. Good news: Racing Louisville is their opponent. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Robinson down for a while, but can continue. Rouse also seemed to be getting a concussion check, but she also continues. E Ball subs in to replace Cooper as the Current are flipping to a back five to preserve this lead. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

I think we can all agree this doesn't go in the record books. They can put it on the screen if they want, but they aren't in the stadium. The old record from Sporting Park, before the Current had their own stadium, will have to stand as the team's record. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Lorena spills the Rodman shot, but she makes up for it with a 2nd save on Kouassi. Nervy moments for Kansas City. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

The DISTANCE Temwa just came from to run down Kouassi was something else. When folks make comparison to Andre Luiz and Temwa, gotta remember Andre doesn't defend like that. #KCBaby #KCvWSH #SportingKC

Nearly an amazing assist from Izzy as she saved it from going out for a goal kick before Cooper hit it wide of the net. Izzy slow to get up after going down on the pass, but she is up and playing on. She just mimed to Sharples her head may have bounced off the ground. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

11,500 sellout in the stadium and another 6,500 outside according to the team. 18,000 total. I skipped around the outside crowd, how does it look? #KCBaby #KCvWSH

60th minute. Debinha on for Bethune. What a wild weapon it is to have either of these women on the bench to replace the other. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Sullivan with a clean, but heavy, shoulder to shoulder challenge on Bethune and their legs tangle as she falls. Not a foul. Drop ball from the ref is the right call (despite all the boos in CPKC Stadium). #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Bethune literally gets all ball and THAT is the first yellow of the game from Alyssa Pennington. For how physical it's been, that's a bit wild. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Halftime. KC up 2-1. Lorena wants that mistake back, but Kansas City responded very well. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Temwa just went 5 on 1 and almost made it work. Remarkable stuff. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Di Guglielmo gets away with a yellow worthy pullback on Temwa. Only a common foul given. Things are certainly getting chippy. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Incredible work rate here from Hopkins to set the whole thing up. Then patience from Croix. And DiBernardo with her first of the year! 2-1 #KCBaby #KCvWSH

LaBonta with her 2nd of the season and she blasted that one. 1-1. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Hopkins back pressed and looked to get all ball, but the ref gives the foul. The subsequent play cycles around until Rodman blasts it into the side netting. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Brutal here from Lorena. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

With Croix Bethune's assist on the DiBernardo goal, she is in the single season record holder for assists in a year (11). #KCBaby #KCvWSH

On the 2nd KC goal, Hal Hershfelt went down injured. Melissa Bethi replaces her. Very early sub. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Hopkins forces a turnover in the box, taps it to Bethune who lays it off to DiBernardo to put KC ahead early! 2-1 #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Woof. Bad touch from Lorena and Luvanga with the tap in. BUT THE KC CURRENT RESPOND IMMEDIATELY WITH A LO LABONTA GOAL! 1-1! #KCBaby #KCvWSH

Lucia Di Guglielmo grabbing all over Temwa, but Chawinga called for the foul when she "forcefully breaks free" #KCBaby #KCvWSH

The KC Current are all over the Washington Spirit for the opening stretch of the game. Just one shot in 8 minutes. They need to capitalize on all this pressure. #KCBaby #KCvWSH

With the team attempting to to put 11,500 in stadium (accomplished) and thousands more outside in Current Landing, the KC Current added some bleachers on the river and screens out there too. #KCBaby

Croix replaces Debinha, who is available off the bench. Good to see Hopkins still starting at striker. Well earned. #KCBaby

Wicky's quote, "not going to go into a back five," seems to be firing a lot of folks up. But it makes sense in the full context of the exchange with @chadcsmith.bsky.social. Here's the transcript from his press conference. #SportingKC

#SportingKC ended the night with 77 goals allowed on the year. The record is 78 (San Jose, 2024). It will obviously fall. The question is, by how much? Orlando (72) and Cincinnati (71) may also get to the prior mark. #SKCvATX

Afrifa on being out of contract after 2026: "I want to be here." #SportingKC

Wicky said he doesn't ask the midfield to play a different style, even without Lasse Berg Johnsen available. He acknowledged Bassong and Agyabeng play different, but he wants to play the same style. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

I asked Wicky twice about in-game adjustments when things start to go wrong. Both answers referenced to watching the game later to see what went wrong, not making a change immediately. He said he doesn't want to go into a back 5 because, "what message does that send" #SportingKC

Full time. Sporting KC get up 1-0, but lose 2-1. Another chance to catch CF Montreal and climb out of the basement is lost. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Shapi about to come on. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Cleveland with a diving save and Karic deflects the ball back into the middle of the box for a perfect "assist" to Uzuni. Literally hit the ball anywhere else... 2-1 Austin. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Joseph Rosales nearly pulls Owen Wolff's jersey off. No call. Right after he called a fairly soft foul on Wolff that set up a attacking free kick. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Ball over the top to Wolff who chest it down and also puts it just wide. That would have been a spectacular goal. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Harris up the left, shot blocked but he gets the rebound. He finds Afrifa who is just wide again! Still 1-1. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Ilie with a tough foul while he's on a yellow. He gets a talking to from the ref. Similar fouls have been yellows tonight, he's walking a dangerous line. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Near immediate impact from Wolff, but his pass hops up a bit on Afrifa who hits it JUST WIDE of the post. Almost a repeat of his first goal. #SportingKC #SKCvATX

Double sub. Jacob Bartlett and Owen Wolff for Zorhan Bassong and Andre Luiz respectively. Wolff's first game back from injury is against his old squad. #SportingKC #SKCvATX
