@chartlifepod.bsky.social this week's episode is as excellent as ever. The summing up of the Cast record reminded me that I went through a phase of collecting the Cast 7" singles including Flying, which was on white vinyl. It's not their best effort and funnily enough, it was the last one I bought.

That reminds me of last week's bait and switch where Korn were the obvious bagpipe band, yet it turned out to be blimmin Scootah!

I want to say he was good but I only had him for a year or two, circa 1994/6, around the time he was arrested for drug possession - I think they were over in America or something, and someone sprayed ‘Free Bunford’ on the outside of the swimming pool which was kind of near the art classes.

Tanks for the memories, Super Furries… To find out the full, bewildering story of the SFA’s tank, do tune in to Episode 60, wherever you get your podcasts!

Thanks Dave! You heard the man!

Found myself laughing and snorting like a lion to this week's ep. Very funny and insightful cultural autopsy of the way we listened 30 years ago - and why we didn't listen properly Like, subscribe and get involved

As @chartlifepod.bsky.social fans will know, it was the second consecutive Number One to have climbed to the position. Totally unremarkable for most of chart history, but it only happened once more before 2006. (I'm excluding singles returning to the top)

On This Day in 1996, Deep Blue Something's iconic hit Breakfast at Tiffany's reached Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart! 😋 Check out the group's full chart discography here: https://www.officialcharts.com/artist/1505/deep-blue-something/

Excellent stuff about this AMAZING song and band from our pal @outonbluesix.bsky.social

Tim Worthington@outonbluesix.bsky.social

The Secret Vampire Soundtrack EP by Bis - lo-er than lo-fi indiepop assortment of scratchy guitar-accompanied shouting about how great it is to be a teenager who likes stuff nobody in your class has heard of, scoring unsigned trio an unlikely TOTP appearance. timworthington.org/2025/07/03/l...

The most positive thing I can say is that this turned out to be awful in a slightly different way from how I expected it. I'm just glad Get On With Your Short Life didn't make the Top 40.

On this week’s pod, we talk about several terrific records. We also talk about this song by Brian Kennedy… To find out how exactly it triggers us, please be sure to listen in whenever you find your podcasts…

Hello! ChartLife is not a political podcast - obviously we hope that people of all sorts enjoy our love of 90s tunes. BUT regular listeners will be aware of us “dancing with bins on our heads” - so here is a picture of somebody doing just that, on this BIN DA- we mean Thursday… (#MakeTodayBinDay)

What better way to celebrate that we have a NEW EPISODE OUT TODAY! Do join us as we continue to be at the CUTTING EDGE OF 1996, wherever you get your podcasts!
