tried the demo for waltz & jam, love the designs and think it's very charming I'm not sure how I feel about how strongly it wears its influences on its sleeve though ? it's so incredibly mario-inspired with elements of zelda and kirby and arguably hades

I sound crazy bc some of these are genre staples and yeah I probably wouldn't bat an eye if it were ironically closer to one specific series but I don't know it all just feels incredibly familiar in a way that's dampening my interest

played the rest of the demo and I've warmed back up to it fairly sure lav is based off a certain mario odyssey boss but. puzzles are pretty good, felt dumb after I figured them out, love central station no 5, I do not want to do the torture of that boxing glove golf challenge again though....

it's just... the sheer amount of things it borrows... the suitcase menu from superstar saga... the first boss being whispy from forgotten land... the downers being hades shades... heart containers and grass cutting from zelda not to mention the goomba's shoe, bullet bills... so on

ofc that led to the natural progression into being a rui oshi in sekai. and then it's emu > tsukasa > nene I still play daily but it's like 99% autoing bc every mobage turns into a chore and I'm not even all that invested anymore because I am more often Disappointed than not

thank god they're not popular enough for content except arguably lobelia. I'm not really sure how it came down to those 4 because I've gone thru a ton of phases of liking different characters from this game but honourary mentions are song, haase, nier, therese, rackam, baal, sariel, gabriel, cagli

I stopped Really playing granblue many years ago and only went back during some free roll campaigns but now I'm too lazy to even do that... if I had to name the favs I might go back for it's somehow whittled down to aoidos, lobelia, de la fille, and satyr.
