i like thinking that if kris had full autonomy they wouldn't change much sprite animation wise. i think they'd react visibly a bit more but not by a whole lot, yknow? i think they're naturally just more reserved when it comes to body language

i rethought this and i think i went about it a little wrong. i think kris without the soul would still act similar to how they already do with the soul in terms of reactions. but i think they have a whole self repression thing going on that makes them so reserved, y'know?

i wished i enjoyed being more original. making my own characters and story and settings. but there's legitimate disinterest within me for all of it. i can't muster more than a day or twos worth of giving a shit for a completely original idea

i wish i enjoyed doing 2d animation like i enjoy pixel animation and 3d animation...but 2d animation makes me wanna rip my hair out!! i get so impatient!!! i really love that "quick sense of progress" that the other two give. i get so restless trying to do 2d animation.

the songs also have a satisfying quality to it. too many times i listen to a song and there comes some sort of note set that i think is gonna go a certain way only for it to completely fall flat. and it usually ruins my mood and i click off the song and never want to listen to it again.

this part i think is a struggle a lot of fan songs seem to run into. they try to be Different by having an unpredictable melody but it just ruins the satisfaction and makes the song unfun to listen to (for me at least) i like satisfying finishers to a melody dangit

i think a lot of songs contain repetition, but i think it's a formula especially prevelant in the deltarune and splatoon soundtracks. they take a base melody, repeat it, and expand on it without losing the base melody and making it impossible to hear

after all this time i think the second sanctuary is still my favorite deltarune song. i just really adore the main melody and the strings that support it. and the part with the main melody and the drums is so nice...

4rd sanctuary was certainly made to poke fun at everyone freaking out about the time signatures in third sanctuary. but in a weird way ive actually kinda grown used to it and somewhat like it as a song now. i cant quite put my finger on it.

the dark sanctuary- the song all the others are based on. it's great. i love it. my absolute favorite part of it is the very beginning with the singing choir that beat drops into the actual song. wonderful, wonderful stuff.

its sister song The Third Sanctuary is also good, but the reason why i like The Second Sanctuary more is because of how jovial it is. The Third Sanctuary is slightly lower pitched and has an increasingly "off" feeling about it due to its erratic changes in time signatures.

its also a bit anxiety inducing. there's an air of "finality" to it. i'm very sure it was intentional. like a "you're in the homestretch. things are tense and you're running out of time!!" type deal. i like imagining the prophecy panels in the very large room when i listen to this song

not to mention i think the song is elevated when you imagine it within the context of the game. the way it's introduced with the white ripples. how much more high tempo and playful it sounds. how it's in susie's dark world and despite how "off" everything is it's FUN
