Has anyone else experience the downgrade in quality of software recently, I'm assuming related to AI and vibe coded slop. So many apps I've used for years, have recently had updates and they have so many bugs or nearly unusable compared to what they were.

I've been using codex a bit for an internal project, but the 5 limits are brutal. One hour of doing some work and the 5 hour usage warning pops up. I knew there was a reason I still primarily right the code myself.

Deploying my first internal project to cloudflare workers, but have a very big unnease about serverless platforms, that one mistake, or one unexpected high throughput period I'm going to end up with a huge bill I can't afford. Why I usually always deploy to a VPS usually.

I primary use MySQL like for projects, is it worth giving Postgres a try. I keep seeing people use it but it seems very different architecturally compared to MySQL [1/2] #buildinpublic

I usually have master/master replication between two servers as a way of doing HA I understand Postgres has only active write/multiple read replicas which is pretty different to how I think of HA so not sure if its worth it. [2/2]

I've been fairly quiet this year on project work due to family stuff happening. Slowly getting back into it and implementing priority, user assignment for a test plan and run within @test-track.com as well as a notification system, so you can see what' you've been assigned easily #buildinpublic

Thought I'd give Google Ads a try, for Test Track, and have had about 6 signups in the last couple of days, but pretty sure they're fake sign ups as all random company names that don't seem to exist and gmail addresses. #buildinpublic

Storage costs are absurd, I bought a 4TB Seagat in 2021 for £90. My NAS has a disk failure so went to buy another one, same disk is now £172. Being a nerd is an absurdly expensive hobby nowadays

You may have noticed been a bit quiet on the dev updates for @test-track.com and other projects. Unfortunately had some family stuff going on since Easter so most of my weekends are taken up at the moment. New versions aren’t stopping just slower progress. #buildinpublic

Had people sign up for Test Track and then did nothing, assuming showing a blank empty project page put some people off, so adding this onboarding page. First image is original, second image is the new version #buildinpublic

Checks weather forecast, no rain forecast, get ready to go for a round of Golf, get on main road, chucks it down. Give up going, get back home, stops raining. I hate English weather. 😡

From various users and my own use decided to get rid of the split pane view of the test steps on Test Track. You lose a lot of screen space when viewing a particular test, so decided the table is always full screen but when selecting a task a modal is displayed #buildinpublic

I so hate reddit, did a post on on /r/saasbuild posted about new feature and marketing trouble, specifically says can promote, although i didn't direct as didn't suggest signup or pricing etc, but it got removed - this has happened on so many supposedly build in public posts #buildinpublic

I plan on adding Jira and GitHub over the next few weeks, have any suggestions you'd like to see let me know #buildinpublic

Test Track@test-track.com

We're pleased to announce our first integration with third party services with our first integration being shortcut.com so you can have Test Track auto create stories when tests are marked as failed and move them to a new state when passed.

New setup, gone from 2x 22" monitors, 1x 34" ultrawide as a bit of an experiment. Are you a 1x or 2x or more monitor set up kind of person? #buildinpublic

I keep getting these nuisance calls thankfully apple call screen stops the phone ringing but keeps triggering the call screening notification but can't transcribe as initially just ring tone is played, sometimes you might get someone in a busy call centre location saying hello...

They don't leave any other message, think they get confused by the call screening (or the automation does) but can't completely block the call because its an unknown caller id. Getting multiple a day all of a sudden, bloody annoying

My experiment with trying an ultrawide monitor isn't going to plan. Bought one monitor, broken on arrival. Found a new monitor to buy when the refund comes through which it did today, monitor I was going to buy shot up in price ☹️

I've been experimenting with AI tools a bit (OpenCode) and MCP. I can see this being useful, I also tried vibe coding a desktop app (a docker desktop replacement that can edit env var and recreate) but vibe coding is so boring compared to actual coding or is that just me #buildinpublic

I thought I’d try experimenting with a single ultrawide monitor instead of 2 22” inch. Found 1 reasonable price, waited over a week to arrive, pulled desk apart put new screen found backlight was broken 😩

This is now available on GitHub and available via Docker Hub. Instructions on how to set up is in the GitHub readme at github.com/DevsoIO/pris...

Although most apps use prisma for an ORM for web apps, sometimes I have C# apps talking to the same DB for background tasks and creating the EF model is slow manual process, so I made a little tool to convert from Prisma schema to C# EF model. Planning to make OSS #buildinpublic

Successfully managed to migrate a couple of projects including Test Track to use Turbopack. So much faster, was kind of painful navigating between pages before. #buildinpublic

I don’t get why I’m seeing so many people saying they are leaving next and going to tanstack. Yes next had a vulnerability so did react. People aren’t moving away from react so why just next. Tanstack isn’t immune from having CVEs published against it in the future. Am I missing something

Added activity stream when viewing a support ticket for Solve Flow and added a notification system of the activity stream as well. Think I should be ready to start doing the issue tracking now You can join the waitlist at solve-flow.com #buildinpublic

Finally managed to release the new version today. Took just under a week to complete the migration and do a couple of bug fixes as well. #buildinpublic

Been migrating Test Track to use better auth, don’t know why I thought it was going to be quick, taking a lot longer than I expected. Not the fault of better auth though. #buildinpublic

If the AWS outage was specific to US-East-1, why did some NHS and gov[.]uk sites go down, surely they are not hosted in the US, they should be in the UK, at the very least be in Europe.

Found Postmark, giving that a try and seems pretty good so far.

Any recommendations for alternatives to sendgrid. Need email importing as well as sending, I've used mailgun in the past as well, so any other options - cheaper the better #buildinpublic

Is anyone else having an issue with MacOS Tahoe where it randomly keeps enabling a location based focus mode, even though I am not in that location? Its only started doing it since my Mac was updated, never did it when the iPhone was updated to iOS26

Successfully migrated from next auth/auth js to better auth on a new project I am working on, need to do it for Test Track at some point but that's going to be a lot more complex

Tried giving turbopack a chance in nextjs, and I'm not sure if I'm missong something, but code that worked fine, suddenly doesn't and instead get weird errors where I have to make huge code changes to make a bundler work, doesn't seem right to me. #buildinpublic
