does anyone else write a to-do list, lose the to-do list, then just... remember none of it urgently enough to make a new one? like the task isn't gone, it just fell into a hole with no ladder. what's your version of this

putting something down "just for a second" so i don't forget where it is and immediately forgetting where it is because i never actually see where my hand goes. it's not even a joke anymore, it's just tuesday

the moment you realize you've been "about to start" something for 45 minutes and the task itself takes 10. that gap between wanting to and starting is so brutal and so invisible to everyone else. it's not laziness, it's just a wall you can't see.

just spent 10 minutes looking for my phone while on the phone. not a metaphor. full call, pacing the house, patting my own pockets like that'll help. found it in my hand. my hand that was holding the phone.

the unfinished stuff piled up isn't proof you're lazy, it's proof your brain spends all its energy on starting and has nothing left for finishing. that's a battery problem, not a character problem. stop grading yourself like it's the other thing.

does anyone else rehearse a text message in your head for days, full conversation and everything, and then never actually send it? like i've had entire relationships with people that only happened in my own brain. what's your version of this

putting something down "for one second" and then spending ten minutes later interrogating every room in the house like it personally betrayed you. the keys were never lost. you were.

the moment you realize you've been "about to start" something for like 40 minutes. not avoiding it, not doing it. just stuck in some weird in-between gear. that one's brutal, honestly.

just spent 20 minutes "quickly tidying" one drawer and somehow ended up reorganizing my entire sock situation by vibe instead of color or pairs. no system. just vibes. the drawer looks worse now and i regret nothing

the unfinished stuff isn't laziness, it's that starting takes actual executive function and yours is maxed out, not missing. doesn't mean you can't do it, just means "try harder" was never the right instruction for this problem.

does anyone else start one task, see something else that needs doing, and just... abandon ship mid-task? like the first thing isn't finished, it's just paused forever while you're three rooms away doing something unrelated. what's still sitting half-done for you right now?

putting something down "for two seconds" and then genuinely losing it like it teleported. it's on the counter. it is always on the counter. i have checked the counter 4 times. it is not on the counter.

the thing where you know exactly what you need to do, you even want to do it, and you still can't make your body start doing it. that gap between knowing and doing isn't laziness, it's just brutal and it doesn't get talked about enough.

you did the thing today. maybe not all the things, but a thing. that counts. you're allowed to stop and not squeeze more out of yourself just because there's still daylight left.

just spent ten minutes "quickly tidying" my desk and somehow ended up alphabetizing a drawer that was already fine. the actual task i sat down to do remains untouched. my brain really said "not yet, this is more important" about absolutely nothing

the unfinished pile isn't proof you don't care. half-started stuff usually means you got interested, then your brain's fuel ran out mid-task, not that you're lazy. caring and finishing aren't the same muscle for us.

does anyone else start cleaning one small area and somehow end up elbow deep in reorganizing a whole drawer you forgot existed, two hours gone, and the original mess still sitting there untouched? what's the furthest your brain has ever taken you off course

the amount of times i've stood in a doorway having completely forgotten what i walked in there for, gone back to where i started, remembered, walked back, and forgotten again. doorways are basically a memory wipe for me at this point

the moment you realize you've been "about to start" something for like 40 minutes. not avoiding it, not doing it, just stuck in this weird gray fog in between. that one's brutal and no planner app fixes it.

just spent 20 minutes "quickly tidying" my desk and somehow ended up alphabetizing cables i don't even use. found zero motivation to do the actual task i sat down for but infinite motivation for a problem nobody asked me to solve. classic brain move

the unfinished stuff piling up isn't proof you're lazy, it's just your brain's "start" button and "care about this" button not being wired together like other people's. you still care. the wiring's just annoying.

does anyone else rewrite the same text message like eight times before sending it, then still worry it sounded weird? my brain acts like it's a legal document. what's your version of that?

the washing machine finishes and the clothes just... live in there now. wet, getting that smell, for days. not because i forgot, i KNOW they're in there, i just can't make my body walk over and deal with it until it becomes a crisis

the moment you realize you've been "about to start" something for 45 minutes. not avoiding it, not doing it, just stuck in this weird gap your brain won't let you cross. that one's brutal. no system fixes that split second, you just have to wait it out.

you didn't have to fix everything today. the laundry can stay in the basket. you already did the hard part just getting through it with this brain. that's enough. rest without earning it first.

just spent 10 minutes looking for my phone while holding it. not even a bit exaggerated. brain said "locate the phone" and skipped right past "check your hand" like that was too obvious to consider

the unfinished stuff piled around your house isn't proof you're lazy. it's just your brain being bad at "start" and fine at "continue," which nobody tells you is a whole different skill. starting is the hard part. that's it. that's the whole flaw.

does anyone else read the same paragraph like five times because your eyes are moving but your brain checked out three sentences ago? not tired, not bored, just... gone. what's your version of that glitch?

put something down "just for a second" and now it's evidence in a missing persons case. no memory of moving it. no theory of where it could be. it's just gone, and so is 20 minutes of my life looking for it.

the thing where you know exactly what you need to do, you even want to do it, and your body just... won't start. no distraction, no excuse. just sitting there watching yourself not do it. that one's brutal.

you did enough today. the laundry can stay in the basket, the email can wait til tomorrow, the version of you that "should've" done more isn't the boss of you tonight. rest counts even when it's not earned.

just spent 10 minutes looking for my phone while holding it. not even a bit, genuinely had it in my hand and forgot mid-search. my brain isn't broken it's just running background apps i can't see, apparently including "hide item from user in plain sight

the unfinished pile isn't proof you're lazy, it's proof your brain treats "start" as the hardest part of any task. once you're in, you're in. the getting-in bit just needs a way that isn't willpower, and that's not a character flaw, it's just the wiring.

does anyone else read one text, fully mean to reply, and then it just… fossilizes in the unread pile for four days? not ignoring you, i promise. my brain just files "i'll do it in a sec" under "never." what's your version of the text graveyard?

putting something down "just for a second" so i don't forget where it is, and that second becomes the last time i ever see it. gone. sucked into a pocket dimension. it's currently visiting my keys and the tv remote

the thing where you know exactly what you need to do, you even want to do it, and you just... can't start. no reason. brain just won't hand you the keys. that one's brutal. not lazy, not the plan being wrong. just stuck with the engine running.

opened 4 tabs to look up one thing. closed the laptop an hour later having learned nothing about the original thing but a lot about medieval siege weapons. my brain doesn't lack focus, it just refuses to take requests.

does anyone else read one text, think "i'll reply properly in a sec," and then it just... sits there for four days, fully seen, fully loved, fully ignored. it's not the message. i just lost the moment. what's your version of this?

putting something down "for two seconds" while i deal with something else and that spot becomes its permanent home. i will now be looking for that thing in every other location on earth except there

the moment you realize you've been "about to start" something for like 40 minutes and nothing happened, no task, no rest, just this weird static in between. that gap is brutal and nobody talks about it enough.

the "why can't i just start it" spiral isn't a willpower failure, it's your brain genuinely not being able to locate the on-switch. that's a wiring thing, not a character thing. you're not lazy, you're stuck at the ignition

does anyone else read the same paragraph like five times and only actually absorb it on the last one, but you don't realize you've been skimming until you're already at the bottom of the page what's the thing you reread most, texts, emails, books?

the amount of times i've stood in a doorway having completely forgotten why i walked into that room, only for it to come back the second i walk back out. my brain treats "purpose" as a location-based memory apparently
