A follow-up to this post, a new companion video: youtu.be/AcF1CP6P9z0?... Not meant to replace, but rather complement the article. Lessons learned working with Vectors as well as general ORDS wisdom. Like this sort of content? Let me know. We can do other videos on our database tools too.

ORDS 26.1 dropped 2 weeks ago. 26.1 has a TON of VECTOR-focused ORDS APIs; like the new /vectorSearch endpoint. Check out this article where I discuss a common use case and how I've solved for it with ORDS and VECTOR search. blogs.oracle.com/database/pai... #AI #LLMs #oracleREST #vectorsearch #api

Another plug for the Fusabase team too...check out their latest demo/intro (where ORDS servers act as the critical Middleware for this new developer toolkit): www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyFP...

A new ORDS quarterly release is out: with additions to our Deep Data Security, MCP Server capabilities, Oracle DB API for MongoDB. An Honorable Mention goes out to the Oracle Fusabase team too (where ORDS plays a supporting role). See the details here: www.oracle.com/tools/ords/o...

I'm putting the finishing touches on a simple app, for demonstrating how to use the new /vectorSearch and db-api/vecdb/ endpoints. This demo should be on Oracle blogs soon. But in the meantime, here is a screen grab of what to expect (the UI might change a little, but here is the current state).

I'm using our built-in ORDS OAuth2.0 Server (using the Client Credentials grant type), a single Auto-REST enabled table (PARKS), and a lone /vecdb/embed endpoint to make this all work. This demo should help illustrate how Vector search works in real life. #vectorsearch #huggingface #ords #rest #ONNX

onversation starter: Hypothetically, you want to load test your ORDS (/ords/) endpoints or APEX (/r/) app; in this case the Brookstrut APEX app. It's almost like the easy part is the test itself.

Don't get me wrong, creating a scenario for a single user is tough; we haven't even started on multiple unique users yet! But once you have defined the scenario, and executed it, you'll then have your results.

Now...here is what I'd like to know: how are you, in your own way, correlating some of these failed HTTP requests with a specific endpoint? I'm leaning towards a custom Unified Audit Policy for this specific test. But what do you prefer?

And if you've taken this LiveLab, how did you like the prompts? How did they work out for you? Were the results what you were expecting? And how are you using prompts in your daily database admin/developer workflows today? #ai #agents #sqlcl #cline #agentic #llms #mcp #mcpserver #sqldeveloper

We also provide folks with free access to a 26ai database as a "FreeSQL" user. We'll plug your connection details into VSC, or if you don't yet have the Oracle SQL Developer for VS Code extension, we'll prompt to download and then enter in your FreeSQL connection details. Thanks FreeSQL team 🙌

I keep reviewing this SQLcl MCP Server LiveLab as new Tools are added and as LLM models mature. Today, the prompts in the LL are (see GIF). Since having placed some more focus on the ORDS image we've been getting lots of great feedback. Here is one example, Martin had some really great observations/thoughts on how we could improve the developer's debugging experience when working with our ORDS container. Thanks @martindba.bsky.social 😃

Martin Bach@martindba.bsky.social

🚀 New DEBUG=TRUE flag makes ORDS container debugging way easier! 🐳 No more hacks—see exactly what’s happening during startup in ORDS 25.2.3. 💡 Here’s how it works (with live example): 👉 martincarstenbach.com/2025/09/10/n... #ORDS #DevOps #Oracle #containers

I have a poll going for showing how to perform a legacy ORDS install/migration. I can set up a podman 23ai container with a legacy ORDS install and show you how to migrate to the latest ORDS version. Please read the details and vote. Would this be helpful? www.linkedin.com/posts/chrish...

This united-codes site is really pretty, I am excited to see it grow :)

Philipp Hartenfeller@hartenfeller.dev

I was using the ords-developer and now migrated to the normal images. That worked out smooth. I also see a lot of things with Mac's and podman. I documented all the issues I cam across and how to fix them here: www.united-codes.com/products/uc-...

Sneak peek of an upcoming blog post. A super simple single page web app, exploring using JSON Web tokens with ORDS protected resources. This time using Roles-Based Access Control (RBAC). 😁😎

I shouldn’t be this excited about flame-graphs. But I am. What does that say about me? I’m getting some rad retro vibes with this color palette 😍

The latest update for our Oracle SQL Developer Extension for VS Code (25.1) is now available. Tons of new features and bug fixes included. www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2025... Next scheduled update will be June and 25.2.

Oh, Rockauto.com is another of this “dated” feeling websites, but it feels super fast, and no nonsense! I will take a 2000’s-era looking site over a newer slow-ass “responsive” site any day.

Anybody who is doing front-end development would really appreciate this video youtu.be/-Ln-8QM8KhQ?... I like the idea of doing more server-side rendering too. I might have to dip my toes into the MLE/JS stuff.

My girlfriend just asked me what I'm working on right now. And I responded with, "currently counducting an audit and subseqent culling of these inactive but open threads of this core application I'm using." Which is just a fancy way of saying, "closing out tabs in safari." #bethechange #hero #pm

I just added a go module to the directory, cleaned up some of the code, and added some comments too! Check it out :)

I think I might actually love Go 😍. @thatjeffsmith.com invited me along to an in-person customer presentation yesterday and while we were there one of the attendees asked if we had any ORDS + Go examples. Well, we didn't then...but WE DO NOW! #ords #oracle #go followthecoffee.com/a-simple-ord...
