While they met a historically low number of times to pass actual laws, legislative Republicans are using the last days of their gerrymandered-majority to bypass the Governor and enshrine their nonsense in our state's constitution.

The money flooding into our political system is coming from folks hoping to buy laws that make those donors more money at the expense of the public good. It is legal corruption. We need publicly-funded campaigns if we hope to ever have a majority of publicly-focused, elected leaders.

It's a beautiful day to get out and support the Democratic ticket! This election is an opportunity to finally turn the page on a horrible chapter in American history.

People deserve health care, child care, a quality public education, and they deserve a new balance of power so that the people's voices matter more than the wealth of greedy special interests.

Also: the other party is supporting endless war, raising prices on everyone, coddling dictators, the wealthy, and wealthy dictators. Vote by November 3rd and then push your elected officials to meet this moment!

I miss the days when the internet was fun and interesting and not being used to divide us against each other by rich supervillains who think that's how they can take over the world.

People are claiming that Elon Musk messed with Starlink in Ukraine because Trump asked him. I think a more likely reason is that Ukraine damaging Russian data centers embarrassed Elon by showing how many of his Twitter followers are nonexistent and how much traffic on Twitter is driven by bots.

In a functional democratic republic, it would be Elon Musk's house getting raided for his destruction of America through bribery. What the fascists are doing is not normal and we can never treat it as if it is.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

This loss and the Garrett Mitchel grab has to feel like a real kick in the right lower leg for the San Diego Padres. For Manny Machado, specifically. Go Brewers!

If they proceed using the new Republican law that makes it harder for the Milwaukee Common Council to pass police-related policy, then the state of Wisconsin will have to take a closer look at what else the Milwaukee police department is wasting money on.

Because people are contacting their elected leaders and demanding responsible laws, we will have the votes to scale back these monstrosities and focus on the things people actually need: affordable healthcare, affordable childcare, and a quality public education for every child in the state.

Nvidia just issued the largest stock buyback in history. It’s a great way for them to recirculate profits, drive up their share price, and make more money for their wealthy shareholders and investors.

Stock buybacks are market manipulation. They should be illegal again. But worse, than this change from 1982, it shouldn’t be an option for large investors to buy politicians that continue to allow for the public to continue to be ignored.

As the violence from our federal government increases and gets closer to home, I'm getting the sense that more folks are realizing things are not normal. There is no precedent for where we are. There is also no precedent for what happens next.

Are we pulling the ladder behind us? Or are we holding it steady for the next generation? Every child deserves a quality public education so they are ready to lead us out of the hellscape we are currently in.

More and more folks are joining the call to end the hyper-scale handout for data centers. The sales tax exemption that was authored and championed by Republicans + Tony Evers is projected to cost Wisconsinites over $2 billion in lost revenue.

The more people who stand up against hyper-scale data centers, the easier it is for politicians to stand up for Wisconsin instead of Big Tech. Where do you stand on the hyper-scale hand out for data centers?

Earlier this month, I ran a few miles with Ben Brist around my old stomping grounds in Greenfield. Ben is an army veteran running to represent the 61st assembly district and is picking up momentum to defeat right-wing extremist, Bob Donovan.

-Public utilities being public utilities and not drivers of corruption, greed, pollution, climate change denial, and hyper-scale data center promotion. -Pause any new data centers moving forward in Wisconsin until protections are put in place

With everything getting more expensive due to Republicans prioritizing war and corruption over serving the people, it’s a good time to push for what’s truly needed in Wisconsin and beyond: -Ending the $2 billion hyperscale handout for data centers

-A quality public education for every child -An end to medical debt -Free childcare -Every wage being a livable wage -Quality, affordable housing for all -Free mental health care for all

Afterwards, we had iced tea at my childhood home and my mom got to ask her future state rep some hard-hitting questions about whether he wanted walnut bread, which grocery store he goes to, and why it is so expensive. It is quite possibly the longest I’ve ever heard mom talk to anyone about policy.

One last Chill on the Hill. 🇺🇸 Thank you to all the amazing neighbors who pour themselves into making it easy for everyone to enjoy good music and great neighbors every Tuesday night at Humboldt Park.

Just walking with my former colleague and OG homie, Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic, chatting about flock cameras, data centers, and yellow jackets. Key actions coming up this week!

Every day it becomes clearer that Trump, Republicans, and the immoral billionaires that fuel their campaigns believe that everyone is just as corrupt and morally bankrupt as they are.

The role of a functional government is to collectively solve the biggest problems we cannot otherwise on our own. This is why we fund public schools, protect our water, and push for everyone to get uninhibited access to health care.
