A #photography tip for 2026 - Blow the dust off your lens AND your lens cap before you put the cap on your lens. That way, you reduce the chances of your lens being being dusty when you take the cap off.

#photography #lightning In over 40 years of taking photographs, tonight was my first attempt at capturing lightning. This was shot hand-held at 24mm 1/30th, f5.6, ISO4000 using manual focus. It's not the sharpest image, and I know I can do much better. I just hope I get the chance to try again.

#phtographytips With the cost of modern digital camera batteries, rotating them is the best way to extend their life. Let them run down to <10% before changing them if possible, and then charge them fully. Make sure you rotate them by using them sequentially to keep battery cycles equal.
