We gave a sneak preview of our new work "O'Keeffe: Kiss the Sky" at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum as part of their Works and Process series, with a terrific cast! Isabel Leonard (Georgia O'Keeffe), William Burden (Alfred Stiegltiz) and Elizabeth Bishop (Mabel Dodge)...

... with Tongyao Li accompanying, and American Ballet Theatre dancers SunMi Park, Sierra Armstrong and Tristan Brosnan. I'm blessed to be able to create this ballet-opera ("blopera?") with an incredible creative team...

Bravo Opera de Montréal for a brilliant staging of #Turandot with our new ending. Brilliant performances by Maida Hundeling and Andrea Shin, with Paolo Arrivabeni conducting the Orchestre Metropolitain and Chœur de l’Opéra de Montréal. Incroyable!

Bonjour Montréal! I'm coming to your beautiful city for Opéra de Montréal's first two performances of Turandot (with the new ending composed by me and with a libretto by Susan Soon He Stanton, commissioned by Francesca Zambello). I'll be there Sept. 25 and 29. Hope to see you there!

Bravo to Lara Downes for a brilliant world premiere of my piano concerto 'The Pursuit of Happiness' at Lincoln Center with the American Composers Orchestra conducted by Eric Jacobsen. Now off to Cardiff, Wales for the UK premiere with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in 3 days!

Announcing my first piano concerto 'The Pursuit of Happiness', composed for Lara Downes! The world premiere is on July 1 at Lincoln Center with Eric Jacobsen and the American Composers Orchestra, UK premiere July 5 at the Wales Millenium Center by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Kellen Gray.

I can finally announce this! My first full-length opera 'O'Keeffe: Kiss the Sky', about Georgia O'Keeffe is coming March 2027. It's my second commission from Washington National Opera and is an innovative fusion of ballet and opera directed by Francesca Zambello... 1/3

with a libretto by Kelley Rourke and choreography by Jessica Lang, and it stars an INCREDIBLE cast: Isabel Leonard as Georgia O'Keeffe, Christine Goerke as Mabel Dodge Luhan, William Burden as Alfred Stieglitz, and conducted by George Manahan. 2/3

This has been an absolute DREAM project--probably the most creatively invigorating and freeing thing I've ever done (and right on the heels of my #Turandot completion too!). I'm so in my happy place right now. #opera #composer 3/3

For those in Southern California, come join me on 5/31 as I guest conduct the Santa Barbara Choral Society in a set of my most popular pieces, including my music from #Civilization, 'Waloyo Yamoni', and my completion of 'Turandot'.

Due to popular demand, we even added a second concert in the evening. And joining me on stage will be my buddy Jimmer Bolden! The opening half will be Morten Lauridson's 'Lux Aeterna' conducted by Santa Barbara Choral Society's Artistic Director JoAnne Wasserman.

Proud papa moment. While the other second graders were doing their Famous Person presentation on the likes of Benjamin Franklin, Barack Obama, and Albert Einstein, my kiddo chose to be... Ringo Starr.

And for those who are wondering, yes, she plays drums (in addition to piano), and yes, she rocks out to *non-simplified* transcriptions of 'Here Comes the Sun' and 'Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and my Monkey'. Yeah, proud papa here. ❤️

Those who work with me know that I'm a *huge* fan of the notation software #Dorico, and that I'm constantly singing its praises. Well apparently the news got to Steinberg because they've invited me to join their artist endorsement roster. #composer

Humbled and flattered that the listeners of ‪ClassicFM have voted two of my works into the 2026 ClassicFM Hall of Fame, the largest annual poll of classical radio listener's favorite music. 'The Lost Birds' with ‪VOCES8 at 19, and my ‪Civilization‬ themes at 165.

Out now! 'Aether & Iron', a new narrative RPG by Seismic Squirrel set in an alt reality 1930s New York. I co-composed the score with my collaborator Alex Williamson--a blend of Romantic classical and noir jazz. Give a listen to the main theme "A City of Aether & Iron" everywhere music is heard.

... as well as all the other brilliant collaborators on both the original WNO production and recording: librettist Susan Soon He Stanton, the original cast of Ewa Plonka, Yonghoon Lee and conductor Speranza Scappucci...

...the recording cast of Christine Goerke, Clay Hilley, the English National Opera Chorus and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; producers Sean Patrick Flahaven and Timothy Hsia; and all the donors who made the record possible. Very grateful to Kevin Ng for interviewing us as well.

Very excited that Opera de Montreal has just announced their new season, which opens on Sept. 26 with the Francesca Zambello production of Turandot featuring my new ending. Performed by Maida Hundeling as Turandot and Andrea Shin as Calàf, conducted by Maestro Paolo Arrivabeni.

Thrilled to announce that the next performance of my new Turandot ending is happening at ‪The Dallas Opera! Featuring Anna Pirozzi as Turandot and Jorge Puerta as Calàf, and conducted by Emmanuel Villaume.

In the studio with producers Sean Patrick Flahaven and Timothy Hsia! We had a chance to catch up between takes at Abbey Road Studios back in June, during recording sessions for "Turandot: Christopher Tin Finale". Commissioned by Washington National Opera with a libretto by Susan Soon He Stanton.

It all started with a commission from Washington National Opera! Terrific article in the Washington Post about Yuma Kagiyama's free skate music, and how it all started when Francesca Zambello asked Susan Soon He Stanton and me to write a new ending to Turandot. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/olymp...

WNO is a terrific opera company with a visionary director that champions new talent in the opera world. They've recently left their home at The Kennedy Center and are in a transitional phase, so #SupportWNO... and who knows? Maybe you'll see another opera of mine there sometime soon. ;)

Giacomo Puccini's final opera was left unfinished at the time of his death in 1924, and over the last century a handful of composers have received commissions to compose an ending to it. Christopher Tin's finale to Turandot was commissioned by Washington National Opera, and debuted...

Ciao da Milano! First on the agenda: my pilgrimage to La Scala, legendary opera house where Turandot was first premiered 100 years ago. Considered seeing a performance, but didn't think my 7 year-old would be willing to sit through Götterdämmerung. 🤣
