I will NOT behold the horrors. (expression of stony resolve softening, warm smile spreading across face) Ah what the hell. Pass me the horrors, brother

the biggest weakness of the top 100 is that people who substitute ball knowledge with reading a list once every eighteen months will tell you that there are no "heritage californians" who are good at melee anymore

ult figureheads shitting on melee for kola beasting at goml yaaaawn come out to the local! half of you are openly looking for any life raft off the game you not-so-secretly hate until the next smash game you’ll pretend to like comes out anyways. water’s warm! horse definitely won’t adopt you

Goml day 3 conditions: I am mowing outside drenched in sweat, noise blasting in my ears, electricity giving out, internet barely working And I’m probably about 3x more comfy here than in the melee top 64 venue

rapm another grand finals today at a super major with a different Known Doubles Hitter outside the top hundo in singles beating established teams he shows up to so many events with no sleep or schoolwork and plays singles/doubles/P+/etc nonstop and nearly wins all of them player of the year

if you think New England is a region that bans wack play overzealously please consider the number of beloved wobblers, floaties, timeout puffs, timeout illegal conch puffs, and wobblers turned bowsers this region celebrated and cherished over the years

chroma09@chromeohnine.bsky.social

there is a puff in new england that goes to locals and spends every possible second of every set playing in a way that is engineered to make you regret leaving your house on a weekday to play this video game, and said locals are engaged in a war of attrition with him to not ban him

Also people (including me originally) were misinterpreting why ssbmrank is going to summer top 30. There are straight up not enough people who will hit eligibility and have even like three top 100 level wins to fill a top 50. 35 would be a stretch right now

approaching tonight’s fourside with a mood and tone somewhere between vegeta needing to talk to the People and the Reverend King at the end of the boondocks episode Jack would like me to remind you it’s 9pm eastern fiat iustitia ruat caelum

ult players will not like melee if they get to remap their buttons (they will just get gated hard by the next execution wall and demand auto l cancel or auto max angle wavedash or multishine macros) but if they get it they will succeed in getting melee nuked out of orbit which would make them happy

watching an ult marth on their stream wondering why they don’t make it to plat on slippi while doing five uptilts in place and never dashing out of any aerial. who’s gonna tell them it isn’t the conch or honestly the tech skill zain would be gm doing that

I think the top 100-200 zone of melee right now is the most interesting it’s been in a while. you could run a vods channel of just rising talent at majors/regions and see monstrous shit constantly
