#bbcr4today The 6.20 bizness slot, going forward, had high-ups discussing banks & investment stuff, just after a piece mentioning free school dinners. Without (as always) a single word on climate. One year very soon there'll be nowt to eat. People not far south already have no water. Going forward.

They still haven't stopped insulting BBC listeners abroad who have the wrong kind of IP. Is that legal? And what about their Kookie Krazie procedure for foreigners to connect to Radio 3 & other stations? Press Play & it doesn't. If you still want to listen it's another click-trip round the houses.

Radio 3 and others worked for a while, with much difficulty. Now they don't, without the courtesy of an explanation. The navigators I tried gave the plague of cookies as a possible cause, though I accept all the popups I could see. I logged in, but found no point of contact with the BEEB.

Mental-health research is too often invisible: Nature 653, 649 (2026): No mention of incompetence, disdain for science, direction by wrong people. My first contact was the schizophrenic Pink Spot of 1962-7 but I have seen a constant stream. See J Neurochem 2025 169:e70166 doi 10.1111/jnc.70166

The Machine Stops, E. M. Forster, 1909 At bedtime Google imposed Gemini spyware(?) on my “smart”phone. Demanded personal info & made it hard to go to standby. Can’t find how to disable it. Now, you can’t buy a bus ticket without a smartphone. No viable independent device is available in the shops.

BBC radio & TV confined to UK By about 1990, flats in FR were festooned with parabolas, many for N African services. Conflict with landlords settled by law forbidding to forbid. The countries agreed mutual access that still applies. Meanie Beebie now bans access even for brexited brits living in EU.

"Due to rights restrictions", the beeb continues to cut off the 18h radio 4 news in the most insulting & aggressive manner - a rapidly repeating horribly SHOUTED message. Worried that their fireworks night assault was to conceal the imminent apocalypse our dominant religious nutters so much want.

Silver on glass has lasted much more than a century, and you don't necessarily need software to read data (X-ray spectroscopy etc.). If it isn't analog, include the algorithm. You just need an element that wouldn't be there by accident, embedded or chemically bonded to a suitably robust support.

Trumpism gone even madder, the UK way. For 40 years we were encouraged to be good EU citizens, creating all sorts of family ties EU-wide. It was one of the ways the pioneers devised so as to prevent a future Euro-war. Clearly, some now in power want such a war. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
