on my last run she offered me something that gave me a 10% critical chance on one of my omega moves for 2 seconds after doing a dash. and the others were so similarly situational that I still considered it!!

Finished Man in the High Castle last night. One of the main characters is very much on a Don Draper arc by the show's end and since he's got short curly hair, I couldn't get zoomer don out of my head

Some of the things about the show's ending were really bizarre, the last 3 episodes were trying to wrap up maybe 6 episodes worth of plotlines

Also, John Smith (in the first picture) has far and away the most interesting character and plot going on by the show's end and things are always more interesting when he's involved. When I think of this show in the future, I feel like he'll be the character on my mind

I'm getting fed up with google maps lowballing it's estimated bike ride times, a lot of these feel like they'd only be achievable for Tour de France riders who don't know what a red light is

Having a good time with Hades 2 (though I'm still very early in the game). Is there something I'm missing about the axe? This feels like the worst weapon I've used in either of the games, and it's not even close

when you have an important call at work, it's like the bat signal for your coworkers to start having the loudest, most irrelevant conversation two seats down from you

I was watching a Top 10/listicle style youtube video last night where the creator wouldn't stop saying things like "if you guys comment enough of your opinions on this topic, I'll know that there's enough interest and make a followup video to this one!" and it left a really poor taste in my mouth

I also hate when creators spend time complaining about view counts on other videos of theirs, like "i stopped X series because interest in it was low". On one hand, I know that successful content represents 100% of these people's income, but there's something so creatively bankrupt about saying -

That you're not willing to make the content you want to as a result. Part of why good YT content is so hard to find is because making safe, algorithm-chasing content (top 10s, crumbl situation is crazy, etc) is so rewarded on the platform

Creator, you need to have the courage and creativity to make the ideas that you want to make! I'm much less interested in videos that I know you're making simply because they have enough positive reinforcement behind them, or that you're sure you'll turn a profit on them

Currently watching Man in the High Castle S2, it's pretty good TV! My favorite bit is how the bad guys keep going "we have to stop this beautiful, tall, dark-haired spy from ruining our Nazi plans!" and either can't find her or don't try to stop her from ruining their plans

At moments the show feels like what id call "anxiety TV" like Mr Robot where the characters are trying to escape punishment/justice for crimes we saw them commit. But 9 times out of 10 they get away with it because the bad guys (and many of the good ones) are inept at what they do

doing a β€œhusband’s run” (early morning grocery run for a missing breakfast item, because i get to wander the store and get whatever else i want) but committing the β€œhusband’s folly” (forgetting the one item i was asked to get, eggs)

Saw Project Hail Mary earlier and really enjoyed it! It's a big recommend if you enjoy scifi and still worth seeing even if not

I'm not even a real beer snob but the big domestic brands are the epitome of mediocrity, if i want cheap beer I'm always gonna take a scumbag brand like Narragansett

i used to take the amtrak to see family in DC all the time and you pass by this on the train route. I'm also fascinated that most of the photos of it that I could find were taken at sunset, so that it looks like the sign is bleeding

I'm glad people are finally realizing how entitled dog owners can be, but they are mere goombas compared to the evil of people that smoke while you're walking behind them

April 1805. Napoleon has looksmaxxed Europe. Only the British Fleet mogs before him

if I'm watching a twitch stream and a 3 minute unskippable ad pops up, I am simply closing the app. who do they think is dealing with that?

it's a shame that youtube wants it to be as hard as possible to find live streams on their app too, i feel like a neanderthal typing "pokemon pocket live" into the search bar

this brand rules, they almost exclusively sell 19 oz cans of different 9.5% flavors. I am on their mailing list and keep winning random giveaways from them

Two years ago I interviewed a 31-year-old NY state assemblymember about a 7-year-old girl killed by an SUV driver in his district. I hung up the phone, astonished that I'd talked to a legislator who so thoughtfully articulated what actually needs to change on our streets. He'll make a great mayor
