Visiting my husband’s ancestral roots brought unexpected connections and an appreciation of life in this rugged landscape. Much as setting and characters are intertwined to make meaning in a story, so our histories are given meaning by understanding place and time.

I used to think it was cool chatting by phone with family across two continents, but that doesn’t compare to listening live to the Artemis II crew as they flyby the far side of the moon! 🌖 #Artemis2

Lacing up my boots for a rally in my very rural area. Last event brought well over a thousand people - I hope we double it today! #NoKings

I went sea kayaking with friends early this morning in Maine. The fog lifted as we paddled toward a rocky ledge, where 70+ seals were sunning. We kept back, but many slid into the water and swam out, bobbing up and around us. Very cool. Thanks to a friend for sharing this photo of one of them.

Hours after the Trump administration proposed eliminating the National Endowment for the Arts from next year's federal budget, hundreds of arts groups in the U.S. were told their grants were canceled.

This reminds me to have a conversation with our new librarian on what plans our library has to fight book bans. Seems like a good idea to be prepared - including lining up allies in the community.
