This'll be my first full ritual deck experience, a lotta the older ones just didn't quite catch my attention or didn't work. Yugioh's ritual history is so funny to me tho, it took them so long to figure out how to design these cards

After banning CW, are they not just banning Photon Lord to protect the lore releases? I get not wanting to kill the lore decks, but tbh they don't have to be killed. Just reigned in. Yugioh design and community focus far too much on extremes, it's just not helpful. This thing called nuance exists...

Idk I just think the card that didn't cause problems until 1 engine was the best and abused it shouldn't be banned. Elfnote needs more reigning in than a monster negate "Best of the best" is more accurate to say about elfnote than crystal wing.

I was kinda hoping the next banlist would make me wanna play yugioh again. I also wish I liked genesys more, but I'm too used to link summoning and honestly really wanna play scareclaw

They killed Crystal Wing :( when I was getting back into yugioh in 2021 on master duel, it was the first card I added to my deck without any influence. I started with synchrons, and my original edits were just fixing up the ratios of the starter deck. But eventually I found Crystal Wing

I swear I had to read the card 10 times to make sure I had it right, it just seemed so busted to me in that moment. I added it in and started flying through the low ranks on MD. When I started in person, I went and got myself the secret rare of it too (sold it unfort, I was broke)

I've been out of the loop for a minute, but is a slightly awkward to make monster negate that gets big really that ban worthy? It's technically generic, but it's mats are specific enough. I heard elfnote was using it? Wouldn't that be elfnotes fault and not crystal wing? Whatever I'm just a lil sad

I think tomorrow I'm gonna try starting flintknapping :) I can start for basically free and it seems like a really fun art form. Plus then I can make some really cool jewelry from pretty glass once I'm good enough

I've been struggling a bit with socializing lately, but I just met a really cool person on the gen 1 ou showdown ladder and we had a blast! It was my 2nd game and their 3rd day, so we just had fun sharing knowledge and talking about the format in comparison to others. It was really nice :)

Mfers gave up on this bc they felt better seeing both inflated likes. What if people were actually genuine about yugioh and shared their true love and care for the game? That sure would be cool Yugioh Twitter is so harmful to the concept of a growing yugioh community

I've convinced myself, I'm actually not reinstalling Twitter bc it sucks. Volume is its only positive trait, but ygo Twitter sucks so it's not like it's bringing in new players

There should be an archetype that cares about base stat totals. Jot quite "small bsts with strong effects against monsters of higher bst" or the inverse, more like Bst 0-1500: effect x Bst 1500-3000: effect y Bst 3000-4500:effect z 4500+ apply all in sequence. You choose the effect if it overlaps

Rabidragon has the highest base stat total of a normal monster, being 5850, phantasm spiral dragon and spiral serpent are tied for 2nd at a bst of 5800. I think the only stronger they'd print is 5900 with a 2950 atk/def normal monster

Maybe something more like 1500-2500 bst, 2500-3500, 35-4500, and above or below the range let's you apply all in sequence?

Idk, I'm too high for making a yugioh custom archetype rn. Pitch me some ideas to sleep on tho!

"Arithmage" archetype! Power Patron would've been a pretty good name for this idea tbh. Maybe they're all sport coaches, so they care about the stats? "Quick Coach" archetype, perhaps? Also realized how I worded that is too focused on beating high bst

Something can trigger in gy and ask about it, and my opponent wasn't hiding it but wasn't calling attention, so they sigh a little and hand me the card to read. Or when someone accurately decides on the actually important part of how my interaction works and deftly avoids it. So fucking fun

The OoT remake looks like what I wanted the zelda movie to look like. Those models are so detailed and nice, the lighting is crazy, and the reanimated cutscenes look amazing. So genuinely they could've made the zelda movie in this engine and I'd have been down for it
