Is the cost Jeffries becoming Speaker? Because that truly would be unfortunate.

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

Jeffries: The days of the unfettered Trump crime spree are coming to an end. The American people have had enough. They’ve seen the unprecedented corruption unleashed on the American people, and they know that there’s a cost to corruption.

This is just a threat, right? These guys are holding the kill switch to the ticking time bomb they planted and are trying to sell us the bomb. Surely we cannot be THIS stupid.

Yes? Mr President? Everyone is starting to say how cool and sexy socialism is and I am but a humble (indicted for fraud) conservative in a very tight race for my seat, could you please come call me dumb and ugly? Thank you so much, looking forward to working closely with you in the future.

It’s not exactly surprising that Trump’s thinking is so transparently shallow—after all, he’s scouted half his Cabinet members from television shows—but his humiliating outburst highlights how little control the 80-year-old president has over what he says in public. trib.al/uGFsDYj

Woah, look at them, rejecting the framing of a statement. So brave. They should try also doing that when they're not completely wrong, and about something that matters! I can think of a few examples for them just off the top of my head.

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Tur: It’s not just the media, and I reject that framing. 6 in 10 Americans don’t know who he is. I’m not saying he’s the most important person in the world, but...is it worth losing votes you need to win? AES: 10 in 10 Americans agree that they can’t afford the things that they need in their lives.

Yeah and a crane can beat the world deadlift record, who gives a fuck

I know One Weird Trick that would save these guys $14 million and make everyone like them a lot more: Give me $1 million and simply shut the fuck up.

Jamison Foser@jamisonfoser.bsky.social

the group in question says it's going to spend $15 million over the next two years against the entire "Democratic Socialists of America movement" -- less than half as much as a single PAC spent to lose a single primary just this week they don't have the juice with anyone but the New York Times

HUGE: Under Mayor Mamdani, New York City just recorded its safest first 7 months of a year in history—and its safest July ever. In July: Major crime dropped 13% Murder dropped 32% Robberies dropped 15% Vehicle thefts dropped 25% Democratic mayors are putting public safety first.

Education, not annihilation. Health care, not warfare. We must stop funneling money to this corrupt administration as they risk more innocent lives. Slash the Pentagon now.

Stay low, make sure to wrap up with your arms, really drive through with your legs. I won't even flag ya for hip dropping.

Zuckerberg's whole thing for the past decade has been to be a couple years too late on the latest dystopian tech bubble. I have a hard time believing any of these tech giants will ever go truly belly-up, but if any of them ever do, it will be Meta.

The thing about this is that this is not "a broken clock is right twice a day" or "worst guy you know is right about something". He is very clearly implying that it isn't the killing that is wrong. It's having the audacity to think you can get away with it if the US doesn't want you to.

This legitimately makes me so sad. RIP to a legend, Bulls games will never be the same.

Imagine paying $100,000 to go to an institute of higher learning, and at the end of four years of hard work, the school can't even be bothered to have a human being read your name off a list. But at least you got a picture!

Sir, another graduation ceremony in which the students booed AI has dropped. "College graduates were pissed after their school used AI to announce graduates’ names and missed hundreds of names" (via @/FearedBuck on Twitter)

Justice Alito complaining about the Court granting a stay without any reasoning is, shall we say, rich? He's been in the majority in scores of such cases, many involving elections.

The SCOTUS approach to gerrymandering is that institutional racism simply is not real, and therefore any map challenged on grounds of racism cannot be blocked, but any map intended to address racism must be. Then they cover their ears and shut their eyes and pretend not to understand the result.

Everyone opposed to tariffs kept saying "tariffs are a tax on consumers", right? Everyone understood that businesses were never going to eat that cost, they would pass them on to consumers. But now businesses get tariff refunds? And consumers get nothing? Wealth continues to transfer upward!

The thing about manosphere culture is, these guys clearly do not have people in their life they can just talk to normally. Looksmaxxing, mogging, whatever the fuck. There are real words to describe this stuff, but apparently they think they've invented the concept of vanity.

Clavicular, the Looksmaxxing guy that is only 20 years old and a complete mess, OD'd on his Kick live. He's in the hospital. This is who's out there influencing kids. We need some serious mental healthcare in this country.
