Yesterday I read the news that CSS-Tricks is back and @geoffgraham.me bought it from DigitalOcean! 🎉 Wrote down some thoughts about it here: claudiorimann.com/welcome-back... And a big thank you to @chriscoyier.net, Geoff, and everyone who's written for CSS-Tricks over the years.

Last day in the Maggia Valley before we head back to reality tomorrow. This one is from near Aurigeno, close to the suspension bridge that was destroyed in 2024. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Went up the Maggia Valley to Bignasco today and walked through the same beautiful pine forest we hiked two years ago. Took almost the same photo, too. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

After a record dry summer in Switzerland, the Maggia River is more rocks than water. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

First days of a week off in Ticino. On yesterday’s hike we started collecting chestnuts to roast later this week. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Did some artsy stuff with my son this weekend and it was great to do something with absolutely zero plan or goal. Just a bunch of old art supplies and let’s see what happens. Also, our daughter left on Sunday for her very first scout camp, and will be gone fo... 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Went for a hike in the Rapperswil area via “Insel Ufnau” two weeks ago, where we stumbled onto this outdoor art exhibition. Most of the pieces weren’t really my thing, but I liked these polished stainless steel “STALAGMITE” sculptures by Carlo Borer. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Log rotation failed, I guess. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Couldn't agree more with everything @jasonsantamaria.bsky.social has to say about CSS: jasonsantamaria.com/blog/css-is-...

Wonderful day today. Celebrated the birthday of our younger one, went on a hike up to the “Chrüz” (2195 meters above sea) together and then had a nice dinner at the Berghaus zum See. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Short walk to the Stelsersee today. Tomorrow, slightly bigger hike up to the “Chrüz”. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

These penguins felt a little out of place in 35°+ Paris. We arrived back home yesterday evening, but only for a few nights before we head to our friends’ Maiensäss again. The ride home was unnecessarily stressful – note to myself: always reserve your seats as … 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Spent our last day in Paris visiting Jardin des Plantes (same as in Nantes, I just now remembered), its accompanying zoo, and walking along the Seine. We walked past this huge building of the former Faculté des Sciences. Couldn’t tell if still in use today, loo… 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Back in Paris. Everyone’s energy was fading today, but we made it to our hotel room, kids are asleep and we’re looking forward to a good night’s sleep now. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Today we rented bicycles to ride to the Île de Ré, crossing this 3 km bridge that connects the island to the mainland. Liked this shot and how the black & white conversion gave it this almost infrared feel. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Wasn't there an ocean here somewhere, yesterday? Tide is a funny thing. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Another one from today’s visit at the aquarium. Kind of liked this shot with my family sitting in the middle, the other people around them, and the sharks and other fish swimming around. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

We took the family to La Rochelle Aquarium today, one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The full beauty of these jellyfish was impossible to capture on camera. But if you looked at them long enough, they started to look like little galaxies forming in fron… 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Street art in La Rochelle. In other news, the fire near Bordeaux is still going but at least it didn’t grow today. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Arrived in La Rochelle today. This long and dramatic corridor leads to our place for the next few days. Apartment is very nice though. Looking forward to some more days by the sea. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Spent our last day in Nantes visiting the Château des ducs de Bretagne (Castle of the Dukes of Brittany), pictured here, and then walking through the Jardin des plantes de Nantes. Tomorrow we take another short train to La Rochelle, back to the sea for another… 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Today was a good day. First, we received some good news at work and I had a very productive morning overall, working from our apartment. Then, I joined the family and we visited Les Machines de l’île in the afternoon — an exhibition of huge mechanical animals … 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

There’s this tidal swimming pool at the plage de Bon-Secours in Saint-Malo. On high tide, you can only see the diving platform looking out of the water, and when the tide is low it keeps the water in and you see the full pool like this. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Made it to Saint-Malo today. Exhausting day, windy, but happy to be by the sea. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

These framed photos caught my eyes today. They can be found all around the streets of Paris and seem to be from an art project by french photographer Jean-Baptiste Pellerin. What a lovely way to take street photography back to the streets. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

There’s this funny little tower in Paris – I’m sure you’ve heard about it. On the outside, right underneath the first balcony, the names of 72 scientists are engraved on the tower. Not a single one of them is a woman. Glad we live in different times now (at le… 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Nous sommes arrivés à Paris. Looking forward to two and a half weeks of traveling through France with the family. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

This past week I got officially diagnosed with AD(H)D, finally, after a month-long assessment – not counting the 6 months waiting for an appointment or the years of suspicion before that. It’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster and I am still processing w… 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Hand-carved some potato stamps for today’s T-shirt printing table at Hunzikerfest. The letters and numbers represent the buildings at mehr als wohnen, the housing cooperative where we live. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

This marks the second custom block we release in picu (Pro). It's been a steep learning curve, but I slowly get the hang of it. And I have a feeling it wont be the last... 😉 If you are a photographer using client areas for your proofing, you should check out this release. #WordPress #photography

Redl and Alex Hohl – the two street artists I share a work space with – were commissioned to add a giant mural to our office building and it looks amazing already. Will share more once it’s finished. Also, renovation has been going on for at least a year now, I… 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

We went to the circus again this Sunday. Here you see 10 people on motorcycles, racing around the inside of a giant steel “Globe of Death“, which then – as if this wasn’t crazy enough – got split in half while they kept riding. A world record, according to t... 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Last week sucked, big time. Spent a lot of time this weekend at the 1st of May festivities, seeing friends, planting our balcony, and doodling around to clear my head. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

This week started off rough. Didn’t feel like working at all today, skipped the office and went to the Üetliberg with the family instead. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Went to Wildnispark Langenberg with the kids today. Saw wolves, lots of wild boars, and various deer. All of them way too far away for my 27mm lens, though, so here’s a nice forest scene. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Another one from yesterday’s trip around the airport. It’s actually a rather nice area, if you don’t mind the flight noise, of course. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Went for a bike ride (it was Bicycle Day today, after all) around the Zurich Airport with the family and caught this jet coming in overhead. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

I turned 40 yesterday and got this beauty of a cutting board as a present. Also, felt like writing down some of the things I learned in those 40 years. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Unexpected change of plans today. My son chipped a tooth and we ended up at the emergency dentist. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Another one from yesterday’s visit to the Zoo. Not sure if I’ve ever seen a tiger from this close (it was even closer right before this moment, but I missed the shot) 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Spent this afternoon at the Zoo with my mom and the kids, for the book launch of Globi's 100th book "Globi bide Papageie", which my son is a huge fan of. Here they were climbing a small boulder wall at the playground, where we took a break in between. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Just over two years ago, I started this little experiment to make my own miso paste. After an initial taste test about one year in, it was time to “harvest” some more of it now and to see how it matured. It’s so rewarding to see (and smell!) the results of... 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...

Met a friend for coffee today and we sat in the sun at river Limmat for an hour or two – or what's left of it while it's been drained for repair work. 🔗 claudiorimann.com/photos/2026-...
