Es darf hier keine Denkverbote und Sprachregeln geben. Auch wenn es gewissen Herren im Elfenbeinturm nicht passt, es muss jetzt schonungslos darüber nachgedacht werden wie wir den Irrweg der letzten Jahre rückgängig machen und den Sozialstaat ausbauen und das Leben leistbar machen.

Dahinter steht die ur sozialdemokratische Idee, dass der Staat/die Stadt die Bündelung der Ressourcen der Allgemeinheit ist und tiefe Taschen und viele Werkzeuge haben soll, um schnell und effektiv das Alltagsleben zu beeinflussen unabhängig von Profitinteressen und Rendite.

I finally saw Avatar 3 the way it‘s intended for parents: On Disney+, in less-than-DVD quality, distributed over 6 nights, and I will tell you about it. I saw Avatar 1 three times in the cinema, a masterpiece in form and execution. A3 is the best stuff Cameron had to cut out of A2.

That being said, congrats to everyone involved. Bringing Pandora to life is monumental task, and you’re pushing the technical envelope each time. I’ll try to catch A2&3 at the cinema, when they are screened again, and life permits it. Go big on A4, the world needs to SEE.

I want a Jake/Quaritch encounter where Q asks J if he already has forgotten some human words, because he‘s struggling himself. Knows the needs and limits of his banshee, but wouldn’t be able to perform maintenance on an AMP suit correctly anymore. And Jake‘s son narrating A3 was an impactful choice!

Where will the Sullys settle? Is the entire planet infested with RDA? What happens to earth? Will we finally see a super rich user of the life-enhancement they hunt from the whales? I think Cameron has all of this planned, but needs to compromise to make 1 Billion with every movie to continue.

Final thought: the music. To me, it just sat in the background, not disturbing the viewer, but also not elevating the experience. I love the A1 OST, and cannot make out a song in A2, A3 with the same magic. Go bold in A4, keep the themes, but add more, personalized for characters and their journey.

Quaritch needs to turn on the humans in the next movie. He needs to link up with Eywa, visit Spider’s mother, and his fallen soldiers in a spirit tree. The RDA need to clone original Quaritch and set him against his rogue Na’Vi self, cementing their absolute need to control, and disdain for souls.

Jake’s dead son should be linked to a Pandora beast, fighting for the Sullys, using guns, and high-fouring his little skxawng of a brother. So many possibilities, I need A4 to widen the scope. Make it art, but make it smart. I want meaningful conversations, about goals and fears.

And it‘s still severely cut in places (the end of the base escape is missing entirely). We’re getting bits of character development from ALL main characters, but too little. The children get kidnapped again and again. Story wise the themes get developed, but at a crawling pace. Not bold, like A1.

I guess managers dig AI because of „the promise of increased efficiency“ and the prospect of turning EVERY employee into a Swiss Army knife are too good to pass up. But what really seals the deal is the PROMPTING. Managers promt other people. They get results trough these prompts.

Kudos to Any Weir for NO AI in Project Hail Mary. There is some voice recognition that would be AI, but it‘s only used to find the closest pre-programmed task for the medical robot arms. No AI, because science is unforgiving, and (mostly) exact. It‘s about living beings understanding the cosmos.

What’s really striking in Saruman’s speech to Gandalf is how broadly (and unusually for Tolkien) relevant it is. Take out the one specific reference to the Elves and Númenor and it is just an absolute classic rationale for collaborating with evil in the confidence you can ultimately direct it.

As a kid, LEGO sets had much fewer parts. A base with a big submarine and a small one? <500 pieces. A Tie Bomber 2025? Over 600. I like the designs, but rebuilding them is cumbersome.
