Tech Support maven, big huge Guster Fan, i love dogs and stuff. Refusing to call it Gulf of America because that screws up the lyrics to "Up On Cripple Creek," and I will die on that hill.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtka... All the pretty pictures of the Hunter's Moon are superceded in my brain by Ghost's song of the same name. "Though our memories are faded, they come back to haunt me once again.... I'm coming back for you my friend. Tonight, it's a Hunter's Moon"

Readers shared with us STUNNING views of this week's Hunter Full Moon. We have a great collection at this link: www.capitalweather.com/hunters-moon... Photo shown here by Jeff Norman.

my friend Matt is an author, he has a new book coming out. I can't recommend his writing more highly. This new one is great. And his other books, one might think are "YA" focused, but they're great for grownup humans too (and great for kids if you have them. Preorder on Amazon.

It feels weird talking up a new project given the state of things, but my latest book, We Were Not Heroes, comes out in November and is up for preorder. It's a reversal of my other books - instead of young heroes, it's about what happens after the heroics are over. www.amazon.com/dp/B0HP8GLR81

The Reflecting Pool is 18 inches deep. It is not deep enough to swim in. It isn't the longest swimming pool in history. FFS, this guy.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on the Reflecting Pool: "It's the longest swimming pool in history. And it always leaked. And we had tremendous vandalism. And we had it pretty well, but we're gonna undo it anyway because we had to do the pipes. We wanted to get it done for July 4 temporarily."

if you asked me a year ago if I could run, I would have laughed Back in January I did a 100miles in 100days challenge w/the Hagerstown MD park & rec. I finished with 504 miles total. And I started running during the first month. Not good at running outside but I kill it on the treadmill.

last night, my son sent pictures from his college. they had therapy dogs and he kind of went crazy and took only about 900 pictures. i love that he'll be 30, and still gets fucking AMPED to see puppies and dogs. He'll always be my little puppy lovin' freakazoid. and I adore that about him.

“They Might Be Giants? You mean the band from Tiny Tune Adventures and the theme song to Malcolm In The Middle?” Uhhh. Yeah. Did I stutter? Fuck, this slaps. 1/2

having benefits open enrollment time, performance review deadlines, and "your password expires in 7 days" messaging all have put me kind of in a tizzy the past week i can't handle all of that at once help

A Thing I hate about living in the DC: Limited amount of river crossings. 495 between VA/MD is always a parking lot, driving down into DC to go over another bridge to get to Southern MoCo is untenable. the next bridge is up at fucking Point of Rocks or some shit. JFC. build another bridge FFS

listening to a podcast ep about "death at disney" where ppl say walt disney haunts disneyland. i started laughing even before Daisy Eagan got to the punchline. Walt Disney Isn't DEAD. he's frozen cryogenically awaiting his zombie, erm, reanimation! great stuff. recommend Strange & Unexplained.

top notch lols today from McSweeney's, hope you also enjoy. and i did read it in Mick's voice

Now, the opening line, you have: 🎶 "Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Satan. Hello there!" 🎶 I wonder if that gives away the game a little bit early. Maybe just keep the first sentence?

"social sharing" by news agencies and "gift articles" from friends who post them do not require my email So I have stopped reading. I don't want to give out my email anymore. My inbox has turned into a cesspool of absolute shit nonsense advertising I regret ever submitting my email to anything

it is chilly enough outside that I just brought in my monstera. She has enjoyed the back porch, the heat, the humidity, getting spritzed in the sunshine. I'm hoping that she does well over the winter here in the house and doesn't get too sad. And, she'll go outside still, just not at night!

i am so so very confused. Why is he in Ireland talking about this. No one in Ireland CARES what he thinks about how he won 3 times, rigged election, blah blah blah. Oh my head. Shut up. Stop talking. Read the room. Please for the love of all that is good and pure. Stop it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump in Ireland lies delusionally: "We had a rigged election. As you know, it was totally rigged. Because I won three times. I didn't win twice. I won three times."

just a loving reminder, it is Barenaked Ladies with no "the" at the beginning. just ... Barenaked Ladies. carry on with your days, everyone. Even you people absolutely hating that the Bills invited them to sing the Canadian National Anthem.

oh no! Won't somebody think of the billionaires! maybe we can build mansions around Data Centers? There's TONS of space around them. they've been built in the absolute middle of nowhere, right? They can live/breathe/LISTEN/exist right next to the crap they wanted put into other people's yards.

favorite AI search: I wanted a peanut sauce recipe that didn't include maple syrup (for real, what???) searched, & got nothing but recipes including maple syrup the AI thing said "would you like for me to find you more recipes without maple syrup?" girl please, you failed. shut up.

what song have you not heard in years that recently popped into your head? For me, it is "More Fool Me" by Genesis. somehow, the phrase came to memory, & then the song followed. "Selling England by the Pound" is a fantastic album. Spent time with it today, gladly. #musiclyrics #genesis

We're living in the Twilight Zone episode "It's A Good Life" where 6yr old Anthony rules with terror. if you don't do it/give it to him, he banishes you to the cornfield. Everyone just does what he wants, in fear for their lives. You know who the little kid is now, right? I wish we could stop him.

when your favorite sportsball journo sports apparel from your fave band, you smile because worlds come together. Norlander achieved fame (or infamy?) for his Guster is for Lovers sticker on his laptop... the internet wasn't talking about Coach K that night, they were asking "What's a Guster?"

Matt Norlander@norlander.bsky.social

Got a fresh batch of new headshots in. Put me on your website, @guster.bsky.social.

I remember telling myself at one point "OH! be sure to listen to this one!" and then I dropped the ball. will be tuning in. for sure.

I recommend to you this podcast series about Dolly Parton by Jad Abumrad (creator of Radio Lab). You may ask: how did a MacArthur Award winning pub radio guy meet Dolly? Because she personally funded his father's vaccine research, that's how. www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/dol...

dolly parton has left us, & yet, others still walk & breathe this feels unfair on so many levels Growing up, I didn't appreciate the "old" country, Haggard, Cash, Parton, Lynn, etc. It took me until adulthood to grasp how good, pure, wonderful it all was. Especially Dolly We will always love you
