Ok, I fuckin hate how impressive this is, but I just rebuilt vdbx.io with Claude as a static Astro site sourced from my internal Obsidian, in like 4 lazy days. Dropped Framer and Gitbook and merged into one site. Half of that time was me imposing my design opinions on the Starlight theme.
What's most impressive is it setting up all the CI to run builds on github. I even got it to break out the theme so i can reuse it on clomads.com which is just a gitbook site. Still gotta tidy up obsidian a bit, but looking forward to having all my data in one spot.
I really wanna know if y'all would use this and what for. My personal use case is for tablet art. Anytime I use the pen on my Surface, I want like 3 modifiers (alt, ctrl, shift, etc). When touch browsing having CMD/Ctrl to open links in new tabs. Even media controls are proving useful af.
Making a neat little macropad that can live in your usb-c port. I call it Key-Gle - the keyboard dongle. Based on CH552 which is new to me and learning a lot from vibe coding the firmware. Encoding a config blob into 128 bytes is super interesting work so it can be updated in browser without compile

I know people have feelings about LLMs, but for me, code seems like one of the least bad uses of it. I don't feel like I'm blindly making slop, but creating a thing I had in my head for years that I intend to maintain as open source. I did create the hardware the human way if that's any consolation.

Prepping for #teardown2026 and flying to PDX in a week. Thanks to @alpenglow.bsky.social for laser cutting this black LED acrylic for my demo box.
apparently y'all can order Apple TV modkits now even though they're not even at the warehouse yet. Amazon is estimating mid to late July for shipping. vdbx.io
"Gold master" for PwrTool 500 and updated FLIP_C3 1.3 sent to Elecrow just as boards are coming out of the oven. You'll probably have an update waiting when you first connect, even if it's just a re-build with ESPHome July release.
PwrTool 500 will use ESPHome's managed updates to deliver compiled OTA firmware updates if you choose to run stock. This allows us to push new features and fixes alongside keeping the underlying ESPHome code up to date and secure. If you do wanna hack, I'm looking forward to what y'all come up with.
