I don’t know how else to describe this like… I like a hopeless story. I love dune. i love solaris. i just don’t want to be preached to about the readers reality. like. i know what’s going on and what to do!! i come to fiction to go somewhere else for a change lol
I don’t know I like bleak and horrible books just fine!! I don’t know how else to describe it except if it feels too much like near future earth i get mad
I do not visit science fictional worlds to experience the crushing reality of our present dystopia
I also have never read anything by Octavia butler or ursula K leguin or philip k dick and I know that that’s bad. but my problem is if it resembles to reality too much I get mad. for example, I really liked like 90% of who fears death except for when they were bickering for no damn reason lol
i count the first two dunes as one big book. I need to reread Hyperion or it might make it up there based on what I remember
i’m obsessed with it, I also liked player of games. I think I would put use of weapons, dune/dune Messiah, annihilation, solaris, & player of games as my top five sci-fi ever. Seveneves and anathem could’ve cracked the top five if neal stephenson knew went to shut the fuck up
most newly-manufactured clothing is insultingly unethical & garbage quality, including designer… but higher-end bras r prob one of the last bastions of quality for price point in retail. the companies r likely still exploiting workers but at least the bras perform their damn function for a few years
