I get to write random blog posts about current events for GitKraken. This week's is obviously about the recent security stuff. I do a small recap at the start. But, I think the interesting bit is near the end about how security is changing. https://gitkraken.com/blog/the-cyber-security-arms-race

gitkraken.comThe Cyber Security Arms Race | GitKrakenMy content creator friends were eating well last week, figuratively. I would be very surprised if you didn't hear about any of the security vulnerabilities

It's always fun chatting with Jakob. This was no exception.

@cmgriffing.bsky.social builds everything live on Twitch. His project, Messijo, was already in flight when agent output got good. New episode of The Task at Hand. www.taskless.io/blog/chris-g...

Just did my first attempt at a YT video recorded during my livestream. It's about how we perceive the strength of LLMs when coding frontend/backend and how it relates to the "Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect". I think theo would be proud.

I have a viewer/mod whose company is being acquired. This is like the third time this has happened to them since I've known them. So any startup folks looking to exit, you should hire him. He is the Acquisition Whisperer.

You know the meme about people at Google only get promoted for spinning up new products? I think Microsoft has a similar thing but with rebranding existing products.

I had a reset about to expire so I turned on Ultra mode and set it to Fast just so I could see how the 1% live. Even with Sol 6.1's efficiencies, 5 hour limit used up in 10 minutes but it was like the zoomy effect from Limitless. Worth it

TIL that the gemini plan includes Opus 5.5 access I can use the new Opus without giving any money to Anthropic. I'd be living the dream, Jen!

CoreWeave Glad I put a max token limit in my request config. Before you point out that the whitespace is part of the input, the input was only 272 tokens. Coreweave padded it as part of the output after that.

@cmgriffing.bsky.social goes whole days without opening an IDE now, mostly thanks to Kepler. He still reaches for one to review and trim what the agent wrote, because go-to-definition beats prompting an agent into minimal code. His take on whether the IDE is dying: gitkraken.com/blog/challen...

gitkraken.comChallenging the Death of the IDE | GitKrakenThere is no doubt that LLMs have changed how we work as developers. You can go back just a year from today and I would have had a very different opinion. But,

Some real world numbers for Jev. I ran Jev in parallel to gpt-oss-120b in a dev instance for my startup. The same ~50k requests went to each one. $0.80 vs $2.09
