The Trump administration is bad for travel. It would be nice if business execs and thought leaders in the tourism industry could acknowledge this simple truth.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

If you just cancel flights, then they're actually not late! Brilliant stuff from Sean Duffy here

The US Travel Association recently named this guy as the 2026 Travel Champion. A guy who constantly finds himself at the center of chaos and setbacks for the travel industry, and whose only job appears to be blaming Biden for everything.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Sean Duffy on Spirit Airlines: "I think it's important to talk about why we are here today. Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg ... "

Part of the reason we ended up with Trump 2.0 is because way too many institutions welcomed Trump admin hacks back into respectable society. And here we are, beginning to do it AGAIN. Tricia McLaughlin is a shameless hack who lied about people that DHS was brutalizing. Shame on CNN.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Tricia McLaughlin is trying to make the transition from professional liar for Trump to cable news talking head. Here she is on CNN just now.

One of the reasons that the enshitification of the Internet has really accelerated over the past handful of years is that UX/UI decisions are no longer made with users in mind, but for advertisers instead.

Maggie Harrison Dupré@mharrisondupre.bsky.social

Forbes chief innovation officer Nina Gould explicitly described ForbesPredict as a "gamification" strategy in a January interview w/ Digiday, adding that the feature will also help Forbes determine "how we might sell advertising against our content."

It's not even May and the goal posts are already starting to move to next year.

Hassett responds to Paul Krugman: "We've got new policies that are gonna add even more growth, so of course we're gonna get 4% or 4.5% growth this year or next"

They will need to build a new wing in the Stupid Decision Hall of Fame for giving the FIFA peace prize to Trump

Trump: "The Iran National Soccer Team is welcome to The World Cup, but I really don’t believe it is appropriate that they be there, for their own life and safety. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

I vividly remember MAGA treating the simple ask of masking up indoors for one year of their life as a detonation of the Constitution. No one should take their preening about shared sacrifice seriously one bit.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Sen. Roger Marshall on high gas prices: "Freedom is not free. Americans are gonna have to make some sacrifices."

MAGA freaks would take trips to Target just to fill themselves damaging and destroying Pride displays and Target decided THAT perspective would guide them to prosperity. The only chance Target has at redemption is to announce to the world all the people they fired for making that mistake.

Target plans to spend billions of dollars this year to end a persistent sales slump and to regain its image as a fun place to shop for stylish clothing, housewares, beauty products and packaged food at affordable prices.

We're not canceling the election, we're just in a strategic delay to evaluate election integrity

White House talking points for congressional Republicans say we're not at war, we're just in "major combat operations against Iran" lol

Elon's X is a cancerous tumor on our democracy and we won't be able to climb out of this abyss unless we figure out how to truly deal with this.

They're really gonna try and gaslight the public into believing that "shall not be infringed" is reserved for conservatives and "well regulated" is meant for liberals.

Kash Patel: "You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It's that simple. You don't have a right to break the law." (Pretti was carrying a gun legally.)

I know some will point out this must make 2A posturing by the right hypocritical, until you remember this truth about how the right leverages power: The singular belief in the rule of law for in-groups for which it protects but does not bind and out-groups for which it binds but does not protect.

BREAKING: The Minneapolis Police Chief says of the shooting victim: "Based on the information that we have, which is very limited, this is a 37-year-old white male who is a Minneapolis resident." He adds: "We believe he is a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry."

All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

How is he not booed off the stage and pelted with tomatoes?

Nothing more Alpha than bragging about how you would have held back the tears if you pinched your finger

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Whoo. I'm glad my finger wasn't in that sucker. That could've dome some damage but you know what? I wouldn't have shown the pain. I would've gone back. Boy did you hear that? That was nasty. But I would not have shown the pain. I would've acted like nothing happens as my finger fell off."

Having our streets torn up and public spaces choked out by massive trucks is a big L for all of us. Also, I've owned a Honda Civic since 2019. Never once has it cost me $60 to fill up.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Mike Johnson: "Under the Biden years, it cost Americans more than $60 just to fill up a Honda Civic or Toyota Camry. And now everybody is buying the big trucks again."

The Rams not spending money or draft capital on the CB position in the off-season always seemed like a risky move

Mina Kimes@minakimes.bsky.social

The Rams are an excellent team but the one area where CAR had a matchup advantage—their WRs vs the LA DBs—is showing up today.

There's a reason that the people who were paying attention said that 2024 might be our last free and fair election.

This week: we execute a U.S. citizen. Next week: we take over elections to stop “fraud.” It's so transparent what's going on here.

Trump: "I have determined that, for the Good of our Country, especially in these very troubled and dangerous times, our Military Budget for the year 2027 should not be $1 Trillion Dollars, but rather $1.5 Trillion. This will allow us to build the 'Dream Military' that we have long been entitled to."

A 23 year old larping as a journalist made a misleading and inaccurate YouTube video that the administration full of chronically online shitposters used to justify the “largest immigration operation ever” and now someone is dead

2026 will be the year that the US will go from being a global menace to being THE global menace.

i’ve still seen people not take trump seriously on greenland but i’ve never been more certain he really does want to colonize it

Whole lot of dudes would herp a derp about "bEiNg A cOnStItUtIoNaL rEpUbPlIc, NoT a DeMoCrAcY" then fall to their knees in submission to a guy who holds the Constitution in visceral contempt.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on Democrats: "They should say 'great job.' They shouldn't say, 'Oh gee, maybe it's not constitutional.' You know, the same old stuff that we've been hearing for years and years and years."

Yep. They literally advertise tourist attractions in the Las Vegas area where you can go and shoot machine guns.

southpaw@nycsouthpaw.bsky.social

Not the main thing ofc, but indicting a foreign head of state for conspiring to possess a machine gun is low key hilarious.

Democratic officials inexplicably still active on Xwitter should abandon that place now. Those who don't are complicit with this grotesque abuse.

Despite the constant outrage, a lot of folks probably feel like there isn't much they can do to push back against Trump's authoritarian takeover. One way you can do your part? Document, save, screen grab and record every noteworthy statement from your local MAGA hack.

There will, one day, be a reckoning for all those who sacrificed their principles to defend Trump. Many of those folks will try to deny or gaslight about their support. We need to be prepared to shun them from respectable society in a post-Trump world.

Odds are there's a local elected official or MAGA influencer impacting policy and quality of discourse around you. Screengrab every tweet or post that mentions all the MAGA flip-flops: Epstein, inflation, free speech, you name it. Don't let them evade that reckoning.
