David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!!

I never tire of Autumn colours.

Tonight's waning Moon at 97.3% (27Oct26) on the Nikon D800e w 200mm zoom lens. Having a fight with too fancy an auto focus on that lens, far prefer fully manual controls.

From centre left and curving down to a rooftop at left bottom is Scorpio. Top right is Corona Australis. 27Oct26 Pixel 8a

And another glorious sunset. 27 Oct26 Pixel 8a.

Good turnout today.

Lots of colours in the dusk and no shortage of clouds. 26Oct26. Pixel 8a.

As well as a passing tail pull an ear pull is another trick I use to get a feral used to human touch and handling. I have Sandy at a stage where I believe I can catch her without trauma for a spay .. after the kits are in.

The best I can do ATM is to potshot the dusk with my phone. Pixel 8a.

Sandy just chilling on my legs, I don't give her treats every time she gets up. Sorta proves she is also here for the company. So she goes to mum for yums.

Forging ahead in leaps and bounds Sandy is almost domesticated and enjoys a pat. Kitties still hidden.

After 7pm this evening 22Oct26 we have a very cloud covered Moon peeping through. Nikon D800e w 300mm AiS.

It's all rainy outside dad, can I stay with you this morning? Smoochy Cat.

Calling all cats, almost all. Sandy still coming (still no see kitties) and IttyBit off and away as she does.

Just a reminder that regardless of your political leanings Australia votes for a Democratic Government ... and that means if you want pink sparkles on your unicorn but most people vote for blue sparkles that is just tough shit ... majority rules.

This is my sky tonight, 20 Oct 2026. Pixel 8a.

Dragged the Nikon D300 out of mothballs to shoot the Moon. Will be passing this camera on to a young fella who wants to learn photoing stuff and for a 2006 12 megapixies camera it doesn't do a bad job. Also I have learned much since I mothballed it. 19Oct26 300mm D300

Not a lot of excitement in the west, but my cats are dry. 19 Oct 26 Pixel 8a.

There is no place like home.

Chicken Kiev with fresh picked Oregano and eggs.

Sandy's kits are still unseen but her stays with me when I have no reward is getting longer every day. The trick is to ignore her and just let her sit, cats by nature greet as they pass and just get on with it. Comfortable.

An afternoon Moon on the Nikon D800e and 200mm lens.

Mucking with RAW conversions in a "LightCraft" (LightRoom Clone) programme, this file from January 2 2025 taken with my Sony a6000 and 17mm TTArtisans lens it is (bottom to top) the Moon, Venus and Saturn lined up nicely.

Vegans avert your eyes. I am enjoying bacon and soft eggs w mushrooms and tomato served on a wholemeal chappati.

New 2012 camera, Nikon D800e, about 3rd ranked non pro DSLR from Nikon behind the D850 and D810. Paired here with my trusty 1981 Ais 300mm manual lens. First attempt at the Moon with this rig.

No planets again so this is the best I can do for tonight, 17 Oct 26. Pixel 8a.

After a 6 hour sleep in a lounge chair Fluffers gets the full $10.00 grooming with the razor comb to lose all his burrs and matted bits from living wild. He is a happy cat, pampered even.

Fluffers went adventuring for some days and returned with a paddock full if burrs and an empty belly. Not an overly affectionate cat but he is just so pleased to be back and fed and having his coat cleaned and even flea treated ... constant comanion and permanent resident ATM.

And you bend to pick up your dacks that have fallen and your phone drops from your pocket to land on your toe. Then there is this and all is well.

Might not be planets but still something to see. 16th Oct 26. Pixel 8a.

And then there were none.

Why bother doing anything else.

We will not be seeing Venus for too many more days as she sinks into the glow of dusk deeper daily, she will appear in the east in the dawn after she get to the other side of the sun.
