Ond mae colegau Cymru dan bwysau difrifol. Gyda 56,000 o bobl ifanc yng Nghymru nad ydynt mewn addysg, cyflogaeth na hyfforddiant, mae colegau'n cefnogi niferoedd cynyddol o ddysgwyr tra'n wynebu diffygion cyllido a galw cynyddol.

Mae rhai colegau eisoes yn gweithredu uwchlaw eu capasiti ariannu, gyda miloedd o ddysgwyr heb gyllid a rhestrau aros yn tyfu. Heb fuddsoddiad brys, bydd cyfleoedd yn cael eu colli. Byddwn yn gweithio ar draws pleidiau i sicrhau'r cyllid sydd ei angen ar golegau i gefnogi dysgwyr a chymunedau.

Diolch arbennig i Ella o Goleg Merthyr Tudful a Crystal o Goleg y Cymoedd am rannu eu profiadau. Roedd eu cyfraniadau yn ein hatgoffa'n bwerus bod yn rhaid i leisiau dysgwyr fod wrth galon y penderfyniadau sy'n llywio dyfodol addysg bellach.

But Welsh colleges are under severe pressure. With 56,000 young people in Wales not in education, employment or training, colleges are supporting growing numbers of learners while facing funding shortfalls and increasing demand.

Some colleges are already operating above funded capacity, with thousands of learners unfunded and waiting lists growing. Without urgent investment, opportunities will be lost. We'll work cross-party to champion the funding colleges need to support learners, communities and the Welsh economy.

A special thank you to Ella from Merthyr Tydfil College and Crystal from Coleg y Cymoedd for sharing their experiences. Their contributions were a powerful reminder that learner voices must be at the heart of decisions about the future of FE.

✅ Mae £2.5m ar gyfer cymorth ADY yn newyddion cadarnhaol. Ond gyda 56,000 o bobl ifanc nad ydynt mewn addysg, cyflogaeth na hyfforddiant, 5,000 o ddysgwyr heb gyllid, a bwlch ariannu cynyddol, mae angen cyllideb gynaliadwy hirdymor ar golegau. Ni all Cymru fforddio aros. 🔗 buff.ly/V8Fz3AZ

✅ £2.5m for ALN support is positive news. But with 56,000 young people not in education, employment or training, 5,000 unfunded learners, and a growing funding gap, colleges need a sustainable long-term budget. Wales cannot afford to wait. 🔗 buff.ly/oDRAgVQ

This is unsustainable and risks getting worse. We need political parties to work together on a budget deal that supports our learners, communities and economy. We welcomed the commitment to a new NEETs strategy and look forward to working with ministers to tackle this urgent challenge.

Colleges are playing a vital role, but face acute funding pressure. This year, Wales’ colleges expect to enrol 50,000 full-time learners, yet 5,000 will be unfunded. More than 500 learners have also been unable to secure a place.

Mae’r sefyllfa hon yn anghynaliadwy ac yn peryglu gwaethygu. Mae angen i bleidiau gwleidyddol gydweithio ar gytundeb cyllideb sy’n cefnogi ein dysgwyr, ein cymunedau a’n heconomi.

Mae #colegau #addysgbellach yn chwarae rhan hanfodol, ond yn wynebu pwysau ariannu difrifol. Eleni, mae colegau Cymru yn disgwyl cofrestru 50,000 o ddysgwyr amser llawn, ac eto ni fydd cyllid ar gael ar gyfer 5,000 ohonynt. Yn ogystal, mae dros 500 o ddysgwyr wedi methu â sicrhau lle.

📍 We’ve been at the Labour Party Conference this weekend. While vocational education is high on the agenda, colleges in Wales face funding pressures, leaving around 5,000 learners unfunded this year. We'll keep making the case for investment in learners, communities and employers across Wales.

📍 Rydym wedi bod yng Nghynhadledd y Blaid Lafur y penwythnos hwn. Er bod addysg alwedigaethol yn uchel ar yr agenda, mae colegau yng Nghymru dan bwysau ariannol, gyda thua 5,000 o ddysgwyr heb gyllid eleni. Byddwn yn parhau i alw am fuddsoddi mewn dysgwyr, cymunedau a chyflogwyr ledled Cymru.

Diolch i Sam Rowlands AS am ymweld â Choleg Cambria heddiw. 🤝 Gyda galw gan ddysgwyr ar ei uchaf erioed a bwlch cyllido o £23.5 miliwn yn wynebu colegau eleni, mae angen gweithredu ar frys i gefnogi’r sector. Darllenwch lythyr ColegauCymru at y Senedd isod. buff.ly/Snpjq99
