Comics Warlocks

We’ve been working in the shadows. The Comics Warlocks website has been upgraded, and we’re getting ready to bring more comic reviews, news, lists, and spotlights your way. comicswarlocks.com

We went into ‘It Demands Sacrifice’ #1 for the horror, and the satanic cult vibes did not disappoint! The goats add such an interesting element to the story, and we’re curious to see what happens next. 🐐

Who gets the prince matters a lot less when the real question is who gets out alive. Read more about the upcoming comic series ‘The Princess Murders’ on the blog 🍎 @tonyfleecs.bsky.social @hackintimseeley.bsky.social @rebervision.bsky.social @imagecomics.com

We didn’t expect The Theater to hit us in the feels like this! That’s exactly our kind of must-read comic book for Halloween! And look at that Artgerm cover! 🍿

In ‘White Sky’, the world ended five years ago and the dead took over. The good news? Salt still repels evil ghosts. Read our review of the first volume on the blog 🧂 @williamharms.bsky.social @imagecomics.com

I wrote a short story about a group of friends playing DND in a haunted house 💀🏚️✨ With BEAUTIFUL art by @dimitrispanta.bsky.social

If there’s one thing we can never get enough of, it’s slasher horror! ‘Jynx & Stitches: the Great Revenge’ delivered a great first issue with a story and art we loved, and we’re already excited to see what comes next. 🤡 @zenescope.bsky.social

An alien invasion story...locked entirely in the point of view of the alien. The hunt begins in November.

The thing pushing Egg Hunt onto our November pull list is not simply that an alien crash-lands in suburbia, but that the entire encounter is being shown from the creature's side. Read more on the blog 🪺 @benjaminpercy.bsky.social @raulfdez.bsky.social @micahmyers.bsky.social

We recently read ‘Horror Shorts’ by @richardfairgray.bsky.social , and it was such an interesting read! We love how short horror comics can explore different ideas and leave us with something unexpected. 🩳

Nectar gives us historical horror, gorgeous but horrifying butterflies, a town descending into religious paranoia, and we loved every page of it. Read our review on the blog 🦋 @thevaultcomics.bsky.social @jrobinsonauthor.bsky.social @stevecanon.bsky.social

Happy New Comic Book Day! Here’s what we got this week! ✨ Black Cat ✨ Mark Spears’ Graveyard Shift Blind Bag ✨ Jynx & Stitches: The Great Revenge ✨ The Nice House by the Sea What did you get?

Midnight Spider-Man is giving us exactly what we wanted: a creepy, darker Spider-Man story! We loved the atmosphere of this issue and can’t wait to see how far this series takes its horror elements. And can we talk about this fantastic Peach Momoko cover? 🕸️

'X-Orcists' arrives this November with Magik, Juggernaut, Madelyne Pryor, and a demon loose from Limbo. That sounds like an extremely good idea for us (and a terrible one for everyone involved). Read more on the blog. 🔮

We love when horror takes something familiar and makes it scary, and ‘Dinner Date’ did exactly that! Mixing dating apps with vampires is such a clever idea, and we had a great time reading this first issue. And the art was amazing! 🧛🏻‍♀️

The Dead Head universe is officially expanding with ‘Dead Head Universe Presents: Final Girls Inc.’, a new spin-off following Rudy and Luz before they ever teamed up with Dead Head. Read the full announcement on the blog 🔮 @acmedina.bsky.social @xavuskart.bsky.social @fonseca.bsky.social

'Seven Secrets' has the kind of pacing where every issue gives you another reveal, another betrayal, or another reason to immediately open the next one. Read our review on the blog! @tomtaylormade.bsky.social @dinicuolo.bsky.social @boom-studios.com

Absolutely loving the Witchblade Team-Up variant cover for issue 26 of Feral! 🐈

The upcoming 'Satanic Panic' comic book takes one of the stranger chapters of real 80s history and turns it into a slasher where the town's paranoia may be just as dangerous as the killer. Read more on the blog. 😈 @madcavestudios.com

We definitely enjoyed the biggest issue in Spider-Man history! ASM 1000 was a great read, and we’re super happy with our J. Scott Campbell variant cover 🕷️

The upcoming 'Spider-Woman' comic book sends Jessica Drew back into private investigator mode while secretly bonded with Carnage, which feels like a particularly stressful way to solve a murder case. Read more on the blog 🕸️ @danpgwatters.bsky.social

If you have ever spent hours eating pizza, arguing over a campaign, and becoming far too attached to a character sheet, Creatures & Corridors turns that entire experience into a very bloody fantasy nightmare. Read our review on the blog! @thelabpress.bsky.social

We got a fantastic comic book haul of all issues from the Flesh-Eating Cheerleaders From Outerspace series and we’re so happy to add these to our collection! These all look so good and they’re so much fun!!! 📣
