Hey professional PR folks out there, I am going to be changing email services and stuff. So my old SG email will be shut down for now and I am going to be pivoting to another email. Steveesposito@common-loot.com will be my new contact info. I will be sending out some emails over the next few days.

genuinely can’t get over the fact Tim Heidecker will just go all in on the most absurdly awkward interaction he can imagine but with enough time, it ends up not even being satire because weirdos like Ethan Klein exist and are actually Like That. I’ve been thinking of this similarity for days

This is probably the best ad I've seen against using generative AI: Mayer, who was an engineer at Google and a chief executive of Yahoo, has rotted her brain so much she can no longer classify her daughter as "empathetic, creative and an animal lover". The slide of competence is incredible.

cool, cool

My kid is also at that age where she could easily be sucked into the world of Pokémon as a whole. She loves the cards she currently has but doesn’t know the machinations in how that hobby works. As an adult though, it’s abysmal.

Alex Donaldson@apzonerunner.com

The Pokemon TCG situation is a legit disgrace at this point. I know they're selling inventory fast, but there's damage being done here? I have a kid at 'gateway' age for Pokemon, desperate for cards; we can't get any. But her interest is waning, the window to 'make' her a Pokemanic closing.

You’re telling me, Castlevania, that the last secret relic I need to get 100% is the one relic that helps me discover all the other secrets?! Oh this is… oh man that’s maddening.

My first five TTRPGs: - DnD 3.5 - DnD 5.0 - Mutants & Masterminds - Star Wars Sagas Edition - Dungeon World

Jaws Slayer 🎃@jesawyer.bsky.social

My first five (TT)RPGs played: * Basic/Expert D&D (counting these as the same) * AD&D 1st/2nd Ed. (counting these as the same) * Gamma World * Paranoia * Call of Cthulhu

My full list of played TTRPGs is rather large. I have a ton on my shelf including the CE of Daggerheart. Have I played a single game of it? Absolutely not. But hey, it’s fun to have in case I suddenly have friends that can come over.

I thought Edgerunners Season 2 was very good. It still doesn’t beat the absolute devastating events from the first season, but I thought it held up very well! That universe is just one of my favorites. I love seeing more and more stories coming out of it.

The other day I pointed out how the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders unionized and also made an appearance at the MCR show. As it turns out, it wasn't actually them.

Bluey has a solid Star Trek reference that has flown under my radar for quite some time. In the episode Camping (S1E43), Bluey meets a fellow dog but neither of them can communicate with each other so they use other means to do so.

Season 5, episode 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Picard is stuck on a planet with an alien whose entire species can only speak in metaphor. Together they solve their issues. The dogs name in that Bluey episode is Jean-Luc.

Unrelated and awesome: The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were part of the recent My Chemical Romance show where they were acting as rebels against a fascist government. They rock! Good for them!

NEWS: the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders have unionized and the Cowboys have agreed to recognize the union

I wonder what the rooms are like when the review scores roll in. What is the excitement like when it turns out people love a game and it slowly becomes part of the culture? Imagine changing people's lives and adding a sense of relief from the mediocrity of daily life.

Now that I am home and I am reflecting on the closure of BioWare, I think I need to share something that completely occupied my mind for years. Anthem has a wild history and part of this was the usage of insane marketing tactics. This one, to promote the game, was a corn maze.

Yes, a corn maze. Because somehow when I think of flying Iron Man suits blasting missiles out of their back- I think of corn and the mazes that they make! I wondered why for years. It was drilled into my brain as one of those things that I could latch onto and blame when the psych exam comes back.

Anywho, I never got an answer as to why. Well, I did get part of the answer that I was looking for and it was that setting up the corn maze was cheap. But I don't know how or why this idea came up. I will always think of this moment, this piece of game history till the day I die.

BioWare is single handedly responsible for making a ton of great games and always pushing for something great! This games landscape will not be the same without them. They inspired so many from devs to players. Mass Effect was such a huge game that changed our collective brain chemistry.

Consolidation is killing our industry. The Gamergaters who make money off the rage game will have you think this is a victory. This is purely a loss. A loss of work and art and fun and expression in a space that desperately needs it. Massive fucking bummer.

This is a truly fantastic piece. I’ve been very outspoken on this game because I want to love it so much. I’m a huge fan of tactics games even though I really suck at them. Fire Emblem has been really good to me in the past. This one just feels like tedium and I already deal with enough.

Fortune's Weave is a great Fire Emblem game, but it is also the *most* Fire Emblem game. I tried to understand my feelings of frustration with the bloat alongside the joy I've experienced playing it for 70-plus hours. defector.com/how-much-fir...

I know there’s a lot of stuff floating around right now and I believe in taking it story by story. This very specific scenario is not what people think it is.

The Information reported that a private equity firm valued Xbox between $100 BN - $150 BN. No negotiation happend. www.theinformation.com/articles/pri...

Here’s some Pro Gamer Tips from your guy- When buying the $1800 Xbox Helix or the $2300 PlayStation 6 Standard Digital Only Licenses Product without Disc Drive, throw in a pack of candy too. This way, it looks like the candy is expensive and not the consoles. That’s your daily Pro Gamer Tip!

Fortune’s Weave is not the Fire Emblem game I thought it would be. While there are some real solid chunks here, I ultimately feel like it falls short in many areas. I’m not mad, I am severely disappointed though.

This morning I realized I could do this by putting gas in my car and driving but it’s way less fun this way.

Listening to more of Takuya Nakamura's sets from various appearances and the more I listen the more I realize that I need either a good arcade racing game or a game that is just me driving around a city at night with my wheel rig.
