I just collect old stuff. It's not hoarding if it's functional, right? (previously @compgeke on birdapp)

Server went down today because the boot SSDs hit 70,000 hours and bricked. I love the future. At least the firmware was recoverable and it's back online, still annoying.

I can't believe how bad the experience is transferring a Windows Machine to a New Windows Machine. What's this One Drive Sign-In Cloud Backup BS why can't I just transfer over wifi or a cable between the machines?

multiconductor color-striped cable has gotten so expensive i've taken to buying cheaper wire and adding my own stripes with paint pens.

Like let's look at Google Maps. Why would I get off the highway, go up one stoplight, get back on? What benefit does this provide? Even better, you just decide F this and keep going and what do you know, it's faster. And then they have the audacity to question me skipping that? Am I being f'd with?

Or how about google search? Yeah no shit sherlock, biamp and extron aren't the same company. That wasn't what I'm asking. You'd think their endless data mining would result in context for what GCP is but clearly not.

This is a long shot, but I'm looking for a TDS3EM Ethernet extension card for a Tektronix TDS3000(B) series oscilloscope like the one shown. I only need it for about a few hours. If anyone in the SF Bay Area has one and willing to loan it or to allow me do my thing at their place, let me know!

We all have car brand drivers we don’t like and for me it’s Toyota. Why are they all incapable of going faster than 10 under?

Worth noting this is *not* my car I'm just the person brave enough to hop in and drive a free car from LA to Sacramento. We'd actually got over 200 miles without issue before...this. 40 miles in 8 hours, before towing it.
