There's a great series on Netflix hosted by nic cage (I think it's called the history of swear words or something) and one of the interesting things the linguists/historians said was that "fuck" is the only one that will almost definitely ALWAYS be a swear word and I think that's neat

I'm replaying it from the VERY beginning and man ALL the foreshadowing is top notch and all the subtle clues are so deliberately woven in

I've played through Diablo 4 several times at this point (good god what a game) and I'm ONLY NOW REALIZING who probably killed my horse in the very beginning Damn iykyk

The fact Republicans are spending so much and flooding Texas with commercials and their guys are still AT BEST tied (according to polls not votes) is kinda indicative, it feels like Also I bet there are SOME Republicans who won't vote but SAY in polls they will. I don't think they like Paxton much

The absolute flood of Republican commercials in Texas is ridiculous. It's almost to the point where that's just what most commercials are. Never have I seen the like and it's gotten pretty bad before

I've worn Converse high-tops for about three decades, and I've learned a few things. One thing more than the rest has improved my life dramatically. If you're wearing Chucks, lace the penultimate (second-to-last) laces UNDER the tongue. It keeps the tongue from sliding around. Like this:

And yes, these shoes are amazing. They're from pride month a few years ago. I get a pair every year, but these I went all out because I was *mumble cough* turning forty

It low-key bums me out that people Online™ have to add "honest question" to questions because there's so much snark and bad faith Online™ Feels like part of it is habits brought from Twitter (it is for me)

He absolutely said this to someone I have zero doubts

"and then I looked her straight in the eye and said 'I stand by that statement!' all calm and collected and shit. Man you should've seen her face man. My voice didn't shake or anything and I leaned back in my chair all normal and cool while they all seethed. Yeah drainin' the swamp, baby!"

This part of the muse privacy and security debacle manages to be worse than it agreeing to lowball offers in your name on marketplace, giving the buyer your address, and then telling them you're home when you're not; because this part? The "it reading messages you explicitly told it not to" part?…

appleinsider.comMeta Muse AI reportedly read Mac Messages without consentIn a completely unsurprising turn of events, Meta's Muse AI is stealing Apple Messages, past and present, and uploading the contents to its cloud, even if explicitly told not to.

Sorry I'm posting about elections and shit so much. Starting to feel familiar in the bad way. Texas is just REALLY INTENSE right now and this is my home

This is informed by me living in a gerrymandered state where voter suppression is so high that overwhelming numbers are basically the only thing that can beat incumbent Republicans but: WE GOTTA VOTE FOR BETTER EVEN IF IT'S NOT BETTER BY ENOUGH Not "just vote", vote AND push for better AND advocate

Having mailed and emailed all our Republican representatives until they stopped even forming topical "thanks but no" cookie-cutter responses, voting for better also is voting for REMOTELY LIKELY TO LISTEN, and Republicans aren't

Of the types of troll, I feel like sealions are one of the most insidious. Especially because doing it takes thought AND some understanding of the subject. And some dare to claim what they're doing is the socratic method which is .. ugh. It's the socratic method like mud is water

For the lucky folks who don't know: a sealion continually asks questions and contradicts arguments, purely with the intent of wasting your time and energy spinning in circles. They constantly move the goalposts and just take up all the oxygen. They pose as open-minded but are far from it

I watched a thing about a restaurant that was failing and the head chef/owner was from Japan but started changing his food to kinda cater to white folk (Japanese "fusion"), but it didn't work so he compromised more of his food, and it still didn't work,

and like the giving tree of cookery he compromised so much of HIS essence that there was little left of him at all in the place... and the people he compromised for still didn't like the restaurant. And the food was bad, because no one believed in it or was proud enough of it to give the effort

A map maybe? I dunno what do we think

Hey DMs/GMs/Tabletop players! I'm making a little journal for tabletop sessions. QUESTION: If you had a 5x6 space to fit some info printed on paper of some kind, to have handy, what would it be? Stats, prices, rules, blank space for notes, other? #dnd #ttrpg
