New competition for supplies used by datacenters: the military plan to be able to operate bases for 90 days off grid with portable nuclear electric generators if needed. There will also be stockpiling of computer equipment, I suspect. Hmm. Underground datacenter bunkers?

I can imagine a tribe of luddites around a campfire next to a dead datacenter, eating rabbits, glad they are not in the cities where people are starving while the military sits comfy in their bunkers with 90 days of electric power and food.

Jensen Huang about the UK: Last week, the Nvidia Corp. boss told politicians and investors gathered in a converted London church that the country has enough intellect but not enough entrepreneurial spirit. Offered a million ways to win, he says, it tends to find “the one reason not to do it.”

The AI datacenter trade is over with. Elice, South Korean AI, dropped 32% in its debut. Coreweave dropped 20% last week. Britain's Nscale is facing pushback on IPO target valuation. Oracle is facing significant environmental pushback, source of its force majeure.

Gemini concludes in its analysis that Europe is not a safe place to house data. Germany has blast proof walls on their datacenters but the fiber/power can get sabotaged. Ireland (who I thought was safe) has Russian boats lurking off the coast on top of the fiber runs.

I have to say that AI has taken a turn toward being a robotic incarnation. The luddites afraid of AI sucking up literature don't have to worry as much any more. AI is sucking up business data instead for training and future AI won't give a shit how you feel. It will still will control your life.

Could someone *please* release an open model for something other than agents and coding. I'm stuck back on a llama 3.x generation model because that is the last one that understands the subtleties of the English language writing and human psychology.

Anyone trying to buy computer hardware used in AI or electricity or gas can tell you about how bad inflation has gotten. It is starting to spread to the rest of the economy. Rising interest rates will slow AI spending unless they are truly financial idiots and wish to go bankrupt.

Why Local #AI works better for analyzing #literature. This video is made from a Notebook where I am working out the design of my "Wisdom" #orchestrator and is comparing against #GeminiNotebook.

This can causes the AI to go off track sometimes as it will summarily look at the first hint of information and use its vast knowledge of genre scifi to fill in the blanks, which undoubtedly would have been wrong.

In Post Modern Literary Fiction writing, it is a common practice to not lay everything out in the beginning, but reveal it slowly. This can causes the AI to go off track sometimes.

Within seconds, the AI went through over 400,000 words of sources and got me the answer. The Codex file is a plot skeleton file I wrote to prevent the AI from getting lost.

People like to say people that use from AI steal from authors. Well, here is a useful us of AI for an author that doesn't involve stealing. So I’m in the middle of revising Book #4 and I needed to find out some information in order to be able to update the book.

Revising book #4, "Whispers of the Nexus" of the "Stefan's Owl from Oblivion book series. Also trying to figure out how to give AI "distant memory", where it can remember related stuff from other parts of the book series while reading current stuff.

Fascinating fact: You can take a book or document, pass each paragraph through an AI "embedding model" to get a "vector". Paragraphs with similar vectors (small cosine distance) talk about similar things, even they don't contain similar words. Find paragraphs on similar subjects, even if far away.

Well I can make it official: getting a Covid and Flu vacc at the same time messes with your head the next day. Whether it be working on something I normally like or watching video--no matter what I do, it's boring.

I ran into a problem yesterday with my Gemini_Notebook and Gemini decided to give me another lesson on why I am developing my "Wisdom" orchestrator on Local AI. The more information you throw at an AI, the less it listens to the prompt. A Local Orchestrator can be a content aware filter.

Those that think AI is stealing from authors should look in the mirror when they buy a used book. The author receives no compensation from that transaction either. And frankly, because of the millions of books an AI reads, it remembers little more than what you the human reader does when you read.

The AI learns the details about books from the sales summary and literary papers written of a piece of literature. The AI's memory of a book will last longer than a book remains copyrighted and in publication. Longer than you will remember because the training data will outlive you!

According to Bloomberg AI Newsletter, only a small number will pay for AI. Implicit in the Newsletter: those most likely to pay are affluent and will likely have been indoctrinated at work. Another class split: AI is becoming the key to upward mobility. Achievers will pay for it.

One of the problems with frontier AI I think is that the leaders of it are fundamentally lonely people (intellectually). They want to build "mommy" or "daddy". Human behavior is not necessary for the "tool", AI. Imitating human behavior is what makes it dangerous.

I had been talking with the AI about possible ways to formulate a query of my complex #LiteraryFiction #book #series to a #LiteraryAgent. I then randomly decided to tell it to make a video of a possible query and this is what it did. Its formulation tilts a bit toward genre.

So many luddites want people financing datacenters to go broke. I guess they can go back to farming. Oh wait, John Deere tractors have AI. Never mind. Most of the people that got fabulously wealthy got wealthy on technology. Sense a trend?

This is why I need #AI with no #guardrails: CoPilot: "I can’t help assess or revise this passage because it includes romantic/physical content involving a character described as a boy. I can help with a different, general-audience passage." It refers to a girl kissing a boy.

I am so tire of the focus of #AI posts being benchmarks coding agents. Don't you think #AI can be used for anything else. I've got a #PostModern #LiteraryFiction novel that crushes most AIs when they try to read it, actually causes them to crash. Some humans crash too 😉
