I keep forgetting that Peter Navarro is a medical expert specializing on responses to infectious diseases.
Peter Navarro: "I had a million doses of hydroxychloroquine in warehouses as the defense policy coordinator that I was trying to distribute to hospitals. And Fauci got the FDA stop me from doing that."

This is so true. Any organization whatsoever or work with respect to supplies, signs, whatever - these people assume automatically it must have been Soros & Co. Can't possibly be the case that some people simply took care of it.
part of this is like, conservatives projecting; part of this is conservatives unable to imagine politics without money; and part of this is dudes who are so out of touch with feminized labor that they think children's birthday parties exist as a spontaneous act of parthogenesis

All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.

"Why did the leopard eat MY face?" Part 8937
Trump Shivs Another One: Republicans "never learn that when they hand over their trust and loyalty to Trump, they can’t count on the president repaying it in kind. Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy is the latest to realize this only after the president’s knife has been embedded firmly in his back."
Walz should just follow the MAGA lead and say "yeah, so what, I myself got a kickback from the fraud - that's what any smart person would do" and then insult reporters who ask about it further.
This is an irresponsible headline from the NYT. Should be called "Science Changes: That's Why We Should Trust It" since that's the conclusion of the piece. Instead, the NYT generates skepticism where there is none though a deceptive title.

Jack Smith, p. 27: "There is no historical analog for what President Trump did in this case … [W]hat he was not free to do was violate Federal law and use knowing-- knowingly false statements about election fraud to target a lawful government function. That he was not allowed to do."
BREAKING: The House Judiciary Committee just released — on New Year's Eve — the 255-page transcript of Jack Smith's closed door deposition. House Republicans continue their attempts to bury Smith's testimony. Read it all here: tinyurl.com/cndtn3ez
Ah, now I see the concepts of the plan murkily.
FOX: What is the Republican plan to provide an alternative to the ACA? REP. JASON SMITH: The difference Republicans and Democrats is Democrats are focused on 7% of the population. Republicans are focused on creating more choice and lowering healthcare costs for every single American.

Plato doesn't mean that tyrants can't have a good time and enjoy their misrule. He just means that tyrants are slaves to their passions, and so internally chaotic. As a result, it's not possible for them to have peace, or well-being (which is different from enjoyment).
I always thought Plato was pretty pollyannaish on this point, but this is decent evidence for the view that a man of bad character will therefore be unhappy even with every external trapping of success and good fortune.
This is a very useful and helpful point. I think most people project the general narrative of rulings in their lifetime to the court in general, historically. In truth, the SCOTUS 'protecting the minority' is a historical deviation from that narrative as opposed to the narrative itself.
The problem here is that education is a product that student doesn't really understand, and often doesn't come to value until years later.
This is actually a good example of why the customer model is wrong. I wouldn't have chosen poetry writing, but UNC made me take a class. And it absolutely made me become a much better writer, with an eye to concision and an ear now trained to the rhythm of words. I'm a better historian as a result.
This is how willing Mullin is to embarrass himself and shed his dignity. The people bobbing up and down in the ocean holding on to debris were a threat, or could have "run". Run? How can these words exit his mouth and he have any self-respect?
Markwayne Mullin defends Hegseth: "If there was a second strike, it wouldn't be to just simply take out the survivors. It's because there was still a threat or opportunity for them to run."
Tuberville may well be one of the dumbest people alive today. This man is so stupid I'm surprised his organs continue to regulate and operate properly. This doesn't mean he won't win, though.
It’s official. @dougjones.bsky.social will run against Tommy Tuberville for Alabama governor. www.al.com/life/2025/11...
Mullin: Let me see if I can effectively parrot Russian propoganda without outright saying "I am parroting Russian propaganda"
VARNEY: This deal in my opinion would be a win for Putin. You happy with that? MARKWAYNE MULLIN: It's a win for both. Kyiv was never gonna be able to put back into Ukraine -- not Kyiv, but uh, uh, uh, my mind has slipped me V: Crimea M: Crimea. They kind of see themselves as more Russian anyways
Says police should rough up the people they arrest, thinks protesters should be shot in the leg, thinks Khasogghi "had it coming" when he was dismembered by a bone saw, wants Dem Senators to get the death penalty, yeah, he doesn't sound violent to me.
JD Vance on the same morning Trump calls for execution of elected Democrats: "He's not a violent person:"
