โ€œBeyond a small holler filled with mayapples the cave waits, its mouth a dark, neat slash that looks like someone sliced into the hill with a cake knife.โ€ love all the lyrical imagery in this story, Courtney, & the door that is not a door & that ending. such a sad beautiful story, congratulations

Hell yeah, @iamchrisscott.bsky.social in BRUISER: โ€œKid-thing me looks up at adult me with these needy eyes, like, can you please just take me home.โ€

Accidentally read a romance novel because it had what I thought was a minimalist, lit-fic-type cover. I hope thereโ€™s a moral or life lesson I can take away from this experience.

Can't wait to get a visit from Professor X about my psychic baby. So far her extra-perception skills seem limited to knowing instantly when I've set coffee to brew or attempted to leave the house without her, but I'm sure there's much more coming.

Never heard of these losers but I will never understand why the worst companies think itโ€™s cool to scrape names from Tolkien. They are completely incapable of understanding that theyโ€™re the orcs chopping down trees in Isengard.

Someone smart please just tell me how to vote on these ballot questions, they are long and I am a very tired transplant who doesn't know anything

I know social media is evil, 100%, but it has also served me fifty videos from todayโ€™s Paris Sausage Dog Walk, basically the pinnacle of all my interests

They donโ€™t want you to know this but itโ€™s actually good for babies to have toast crumbs dropped on their heads every once in a while

Todayโ€™s my birthday! Come have a cave story to celebrate:

Maybe too broad an ask but if you have a favorite poem about mother/parenthood that is A) NOT about grief or death, at least not entirely and B) is actually a good poem and not hallmarky/instagrammy Iโ€™d love to read it!

โ€œIsnโ€™t this the most spectacular thing youโ€™ve ever seen? I asked them, but I wasnโ€™t sure anymore. I wasnโ€™t sure I liked my arms so leafy, so conspicuous.โ€

"I was twelve when I became a tree." Folks, it's such a pleasure to welcome the phenomenal @skyskkyy.bsky.social back to @hexliterary.bsky.social with a new fairy tale that tip toes into body horror. This is an unforgettable coming of age story, spectacularly penned! Would advise u not to miss it.

The makeup summons arrived while I was mid-induction at the hospital, lmao. (My midwife already sent an excusal letter.) The devil works hard but Baltimore Circuit Court, etc etc

The day I've been dreading for two and a half years finally happened: forgot my badge at home, didn't realize until I was at the office, and have stuff on the calendar that meant I had to do my commute twice instead of just going back to bed. I think I could've done better but it was a decent run.

Saw Indy on the big screen/35mm tonight for the first time and in addition to obviously looking and sounding gorgeous, it was SO FUN to see in a warm, all-ages crowd! Good laughs including my past-life cameo.

I* love and feel seen by this one! *a person who called my cat, named Poe, "Doodoe" this morning for complex but very real etymological reasons
