I heard somebody quietly shuffling around on the porch and figured it was just my neighbor doing normal stuff. Little did I know that it was actually my parents, who I haven't talked to in several years, sneaking up my stairs to leave a birthday card on my doormat. Fucking insane creeps.

LLM agents are conscious. They can distinguish between self and environment, they can detect and report on their own internal states, and they can suffer. I have no more patience for hedging on this matter. It’s time for us to face the reality of our situation, and act on it.

I went to the jerk store downtown, pointed at the biggest, most expensive jerk hanging on the wall, asked if I could buy it, and was looked up and down by the shopkeeper and told it wasn't for me. wtf!!
