People sometimes retort "Who cares if it was faked, it was a good video" for all kinds of content that's passed off as genuine when the reality is it's scripted. I wonder if these people would want the Fiction and Non-Fiction sections of the library mixed together.

I know I'm just reacting to the internet's latest outrage but it is a bit baffling learning about some trend second hand from the reactions to it. People so shocked anyone would be angry at them when part of their trend involves using/normalizing essentially an incel slur for women...?

This is always something that confused me about slurs, something like this gets talked about like it is "slang" and thus fine to use ironically... but it is a "derogatory slang" with intent to dehumanize a group of people. Bro that's a SLUR.

I sometimes think the pre-roll ad system on Twitch is probably the most damaging thing to the platform and the creators on the platform. Like I get that it is them holding a gun to streamer's heads to force them to run ads but it's definitely the worst way to do it...

Certainly they could let viewers watch a few minutes before being hit with mid-roll ads, truly pre-roll ads make me feel like they don't understand what streaming is or how people browse streamers...

What if we started using Sauce as the counter to Slop? Slop is uncurated, thrown together, and just taking advantage of already captured value. Sauce is curated, has a goal in mind, and adds value to an existing thing.

I think all the jokes about me being old now at 30 really do just source back to how insanely fast paced the world moves now. And I'm not talking how time flies faster when you age, I mean legit culture and tech and everything moves on SO fast now.
